How do I gain access to the Member's Market? This thread suggests older forum accounts don't need to pass 1,000 posts for access. Thanks.

    New gaming PC

I'd hold out until June/July, nvidia's next-gen-GPUs are expected to be on the market by then, those will future proof you for 3 years+ ahead.

    PC Build for VR

Have you considered running Windows 10 on your Mac via Bootcamp? If your primary use for VR is watching movies, then you can opt for a Steam machine + Vive, or PS4 + Morpheus. It's too early to comment yet on the preferred combination, but something to keep in mind before throwing down £1300.

Having loads of problems with dual boot. Win 10 now dead.

It's all part of the fun in setting up a dual-boot system. But you shouldn't need to make BIOS changes each time. When installed properly, a menu will ask if you want to boot into Windows 7, Windows 10, Linux, etc. The way I recommend to begin is, back up everything. Every time I've set up a...

    Two SSDs?

Depends on your use of windows. I generally keep the OS restricted to a 60GB partition, with applications and games installed to other partitions. But if you tend to install and save everything to the C:\ then use the 250GB for the OS.

Do i buy the Acer Predator x34 Or the Asus PG348Q

The upcoming Asus Designo MX Series 34" might be using the same IPS panel as the PG348Q. Then presumably the panels will be filtered between models based upon their overclocked stability.

    Qnap or Synology.

It sounds like you have modest expectations from your NAS. Should you opt for a Synology then consider their x16 models, as they support their units for 5 years only. I still run a perfectly functional DS209+II, last updated to DSM4.2. But the unit isn't supported by the latest updates, soon to...

    NAS Recommendatons

The DS716+ is available now, featuring a quadcore Celeron N3150. I'm sure there're threads about it on the PLEX forums, I'd read there first for any compatibility concerns.

It's comparable to S1 and if that failed to hook you, I doubt S2 will feel any different ;)

    US: Penny Dreadful.

The show has its moments which makes the series worth watching. I'd like to see them delving deeper into Victorian life and emphasising just how different London was in those times(complete with werewolves, vampires and witches!). I haven't seen mention of it on these forums, so if you're...

Arnie is back in 'Legend of Conan'

A proper sequel to Predator would make chronological sense. Thirty years later, a certain trophy finds himself hunted through the streets... Directors in the 80s had the freedom of an (18) rating. Now they're restricted towards a younger, profitable audience and films just don't reach their...

my cpu is running at 127C

When it reports this high, I would reboot, enter BIOS and check the reading from there. Also check if temp.warnings are enabled in the BIOS. Then you can comfortably try other software ;)

    Yorkfield build

It's on This Week Only! ;) There're dozens of motherboards to choose from, I'm not even sure what the differences are. So the Asus P5E was on offer and seems to be well regarded. I'll keep the case and hard disks etc, from my current build. Also, not a very hardcore gamer so I don't need...

The official Dell Ultrasharp 2408WFP Thread

Is there any reason to pay ~£150 extra for the 2408WFP, over the Samsung SM-245B, for general PC usage(casual gaming, movies, photoshop work, etc) ? I'm buying one later this month and was set on the 2408WFP, but now the 245B seems a better deal. The Dell only has better viewing angles. which...

    Multiple Distros on one drive?

I'm partitioning off a portion of my hard disk for dual-booting Linux with Windows. There's enough space to install two distros, so is it better to keep the them apart, or can I safely share partitions between them, like the swapfile, /home, /usr... etc? The first ones on will be Fedora...
