Hey all
So last night my trusty Corsair 620w HX Pro Psu went pop after 5 and a half years of loyal service.
I need a similar replacement but have been out of the loop for some time. I need the normal things but also one with an 8 pin ATX 12v1 for my old ABIT IP35 mobo and at least 2 PCI...
Jeez, get a room.
On topic, a certain high street retailer is still selling some external 2tb drives for £79.99. Picked one up yesterday and they had stock.
Reseating the cooler and using new paste might help and is certainly worth a try. I'm assuming the airflow in your case is also ok?
If 80c is acceptable as a load temp I would OC until I hit that mark. What clock/volts/temps etc have you got currently?
That V core is still fairly low for a Q6600. Although the temps you are getting under load suggest to me that your cooling solution may be your limiting factor here.
What cooling are you using? The load temps are still ok as its a rare thing to ever stress your PC as much as a Prime 95 type...
Nope, I pushed on and got 400 x 9 for a 3.6Ghz clock but temps were higher due to more volts increases so I decided to keep it at 3.4Ghz for a coolish and stable clock.
Had a BSOD situation about 6 months ago and dialed it back again to 3.2Ghz but only for a week as I noticed the cooler was a...
After much reading and interweb searching I've managed to find a Canon S95 for £271 from here
Looks like a good deal for a good camera, even with the Fedex shipping its still cheaper than a lot of uk online retailers.
Hi, sorry for the hijack. I'm in a similar boat to the OP.
Just ordered this MSI GTX 560ti as a replacement for my aging 8800GT.
Its £10 more than your budget but on offer this week and looks like a really good upgrade choice.
I have Witcher 2 arriving this week and aim to start the...
Hey folks
I currently have a Canon Powershot A95, which while a good camera goes through the 4xAA really fast and the screen is a little on the small side. Also the batteries make it quite heavy.
What would be a handy upgrade to this camera? I've had a little look around but I confess to...
Hey all
So, currently have a 8800GT in my rig which has been fine but getting a little old. I don't play max-res FPS games so I don't need cutting edge or twin cards but with the new Dragon age and Witcher titles out this year I thought I'd treat myself to a new GFX card.
Had a good look...
Yeah, never had an issue with installing Win 7 before on SATA, machine is brand new so hopefully o/c would test components for building and sending out?
I'll try different sata ports on the mobo and see what happens.
Hey folks
Hope this is me being thick and theres an easy answer.
I recently got a pre-built machine from o/c for my wife

Very nice for the price too!
I already have an operating system for it (Win7 64) but for some...
Ok, progress of a sort now I've had some time to look at this.
I left the volts as they were for the overclock;
Vcore 1.4350
Mem 2.1
cpu vtt 1.27
mch 1.31
Dialed back the clock to stock settings 266 x 9 = 2,394ghz
New version of prime ran with no errors overnight for 10 hours...
Yeah, think I'll but the clock back to standard at 266 x 9 and prime for at least 4 hours, if thats ok I'll start by backing the overclock back to 360 x 9 and go from there I think.
It will submit to my overclocking needs or be fried! Also I'm pretty sure my current volts have some playroom...
hmmm, plot thickens.
Sat down with this last night to figure it out. Ran 5 successfull memtest86+ runs with no errors. Although I did realise I'd used an old version of Prime 95. Ran the new version and one of the core's in my Q6600 repeatedly failed in under five minutes. This happened...
So, I've been getting some BSOD's lately on what has been an otherwise very stable but overclocked machine, specs in my Sig.
My rig is 2.5 years old at present but has run everything fine so far. Lately, last six months or so I have been playing Dragon Age and more recently Starcraft II...
Finally got this sorted.
It seems the issue was with the dual channel aspect of my mobo, while the PC would see the memory it caused the error as all three slots on the mobo had memory in.
In the short term I have just installed 2x1gb in the dual channel slots which supports 200fsb, on...
