    The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt

If it's crashing use the verify tool which is what it's for. It isn't the update causing the crashes, it's the download which became corrupted, verify fixes this.

    The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt

Validate the patch and game in GOG and it should be OK, mine did that at first and once validated the errors were removed.

    The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt

That does mean you have to start the game again from the begining !

    The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt

I had hoped they were going to include the two expansion packs as a part of this patch but no such luck it seems, and Gog are charging more for the two than they are for the entire game atm !

The Chip Act USA and the potential unforseen consequences.

More effects of the chip act, although for us it could well mean cheaper prices as sellers are forced to discount product in order to move it with AMD forecasting a 40% drop in CPU sales and others complaining of similar contractions plus the effects of the chip act...

    Can't find router login page

No I haven't done that I do have a vague recollection of it saying that the login page would no longer be available in access point mode, but it's a while since and memory being what it is and all that.

    Can't find router login page

It was the laptop directly connected to the ethnet port of the router I could access all the other routers on the system save for this one, and I also tried it remotely too.

    Can't find router login page

Tried that it didn't work, the modem says it's on 192.168.0.23/24 with corresponding mac address but that doesn't give any result either.

    Can't find router login page

I have a number of routers (in access point mode) one of them appears to be working, at least to some degree but I cannot get into it at all. I know which one it is because the modem gives me a list of connected devices and I can see the devices Mac address together with the ip, but nothing...

The Chip Act USA and the potential unforseen consequences.

Protectionism is where a country protects its own markets from cheaper imports, the chip act stops US and allied coutries selling to China on the grounds of military use, so it's more akin to sanctions.

The Chip Act USA and the potential unforseen consequences.

Yes I know they're Taiwanese, but the chip act is international and applies to them also and they have left China. I understand just how bad China's economy is but ccompanies have been stupid and put all their eggs in one basket and now cannot obtain supplies elsewhere. Take the sensors for...

The Chip Act USA and the potential unforseen consequences.

The chip act has meant all those engineers have had to leave China and they don't have the expertise to continue production. BTW if you think the issue with the Chips is bad imagine what would happen if the Chinese decide to prevent the production of medicines or the export of them which the...

The Chip Act USA and the potential unforseen consequences.

Unfortunately China is likely to look to expertise elsewhere, and there ever so conveniently just off their coast lies the Island of Taiwan with the worlds most advanced silicon foundaries, yes the chip act is in and of itself a good thing, but if as a consequence it starts World War III then...

The Chip Act USA and the potential unforseen consequences.

I think you need to read some of the earlier posts because there's a lot more to you perhaps aren't aware of. The forced withdrawal of technical personnel means the silucon foundaries are inoperable even for low end chips. What's on the ships will take a few weeks to get here, and there is...

The Chip Act USA and the potential unforseen consequences.

The thread is about the unforseen consequences as opposed to the chip act itself, and that now China can't produce even the basic chips which are used in so many applications. The knock on effect because of the Wests reliance on China is likely to affect many users we might not expect.

    The Witcher - Enhanced Edition

Rumours of the Ray tracing full upgrade of the Witcher 3 being available 9th December, based on some kid in a games shop finding that date on his expected announcements list. Having said that CD Red did promise Q4 and 9th December is pretty close to the end of that, so it might just be true. For...

The Chip Act USA and the potential unforseen consequences.

More evidence of the effects of the Chip act: https://www.newsncr.com/business/sk-hynix-calls-us-export-controls-painful-as-chipmaker-slashes-capex/ Again the export of technology to China has some understandable reasoning, but it is also going to affect production of many other innocent use...
