For those with diabetes, how did you know/find out?

I 'll keep a watchful eye out, lol. I also had my annual diabetic eye scan a few weeks ago, seems I have a very small retinopathy problem. I guess not unusual due to the prolonged length of time of being undiagnosed.

For those with diabetes, how did you know/find out?

Its been interesting reading this thread. Bit of a long post this (sorry) Ever since I was a child I've had a sweet tooth, I generally had 3 or 4 spoonful of sugars in my tea, syrups in my coffee. So much sugar that up until my mid twenties I'd have blood tests just to check if I had diabetes...

******Official Star Citizen / Squadron 42 Thread******

Thing is I love using the sticks on SC, feels like a different game to me, but totally agree about the wires. Would be a bit of an issue on a laptop too. Gaming away from my desk is good as I too WFH and getting away from the office to play SC helps me unwind afgter a stressful day.

******Official Star Citizen / Squadron 42 Thread******

This is my problem too, I game from the sofa (not to the TV) only to be "sociable" with the wife. Currently using a lap pad thingy (has a fixed cushion underneath) but obviously I can't use the sticks. I've been looking at the Couchmaster but I think its still a little too small to hold a...

    Asus laptop worth buying?

I've had an ASUS TUF A15 for a couple of years now, my lad has his A17 for a bit longer. I had to replace the fans this year on both after they started making horrible grinding noises (almost started at the same time too) new fans cost roughly £40 for each machine. My A15 screen is now on its...

What film did you watch last night?

I didn't mean in the literal sense, but without the success of Blade Marvel Studios and the MCU probably wouldn't exist, certainly not in the way it is today. Marvel was almost financially bankrupt until the Blade films saved them...

What film did you watch last night?

Blade kicked off the MCU really, not holding my breath on the new version. And that tune: New Order's Confusion.

    Paramount +

So I spent an hour or so exchanging messages with Sky Help Team on Twitter on Saturday night. Nothing worked and the last message I got was "It is on ongoing thing as the servers are really busy. I understand how frustrating it can be but please keep trying as you will eventually get to the page...

    Paramount +

Its only free on Sky if you subscribe to Sky Cinema. Been trying to activate P+ account through Sky since Wednesday with no luck (not the only one checking online) - keep getting a message saying "High demand" or "something went wrong try again later". Considering they've been "planning" this...

    Jonsbo U5

Thanks - I noticed after I posted that the U5 has quite limited space for SSD (I have 2 of them) and HDD (I have one of them), looked up the D40 and it seems much better for drive storage. I could shift to M2's though. I do like the look of the D40. So maybe the D40 or the Lian Li Air Mini.......

    Jonsbo U5

Hi all I'm up for changing my PC case, I currently have a Corsair Air 540 (which is about 4 years old or so, maybe a bit older). I want to go a little smaller and had my eye on the Lian Li PC 011 Dynamic mid-case (which I can see is very popular). I think that case is slightly deeper than I...

What TV shows are you currently watching

Yorkshire Ripper: The Secret Murders Documentary in 2 parts which doesn't paint the police investigation into Peter Sutcliffe's activities very good. It was noted none of the police authorities involved had commented or interviewed. But in the face of evidence (I'm guessing not all was revealed...

    New car delays.

FWIW my local Hyundai garage invited me to a "fast track" event and their marketing email said if I ordered at the event I would get "priority" and get my new car delivered faster (ok, right). The email listed out all their models. Generally if I had ordered on 26th Feb (event day), then I would...

    Issues with extension spiralling costs

Oh man, I think you've found out the hard way how construction projects can go wrong. I posted on another thread about "major project" work and for any significant works its a good idea to employ a PM (sometimes those who can design works can also PM the works). But you're past that now and...

Extension, architects and the process in general.

As a chartered Quantity Surveyor (yep I'm the boring git at parties) and working for one of the largest construction consultancies in the UK, we've had an internal email asking us to be more diligent on our client's construction projects to watch for signs of impending insolvency on contractors...

What film did you watch last night?

The Little Things (2021) IMDB - Deke (Denzel Washington), a burnt-out Kern County, CA deputy sheriff teams up with Baxter (Rami Malek), a crack LASD detective, to nab a serial killer. Deke's nose for the "little things" proves eerily accurate, but his willingness to circumvent the rules embroils...

    New car delays.

Have I been lucky? Dealership called me this morning and my car is at the garage and now being prepped, going to go pick it up at the weekend. All in took just under 4 months from the date I ordered to the car getting delivered.

    Tight Car Parks

Always hated the exit from the multistorey car park to the Vue cinema in Newcastle Under Lyme. It has a 90 degree turn to the ticket barrier out onto the A34. I don't think I've ever seen anyone who hasn't had to lean out of their window to reach to ticket barrier control or even open their door...

    Mattresses - I need knowledge

Wife and me went into our local (well known) bed store to buy a new matress late September, so yeah you can. I did book a slot on their website though (even though it seemed it wasn't needed).
