Buying a used gfx card from Ebay.

eBay favours the buyer - it's probably easier to get scammed as a seller than a buyer. That said, with any used card, once you've established it works, you may wish to remove the heatsink and have a close look at the PCB and check for signs of damage or temporary fixes. I've bought 8 used...

    eBay Experience?

Facebook marketplace might be a reasonable place to look. Probably have a 2-4gb GPU in and an old quad core but it can be done. Theres a guy who flips PCs near me who does a good job and has a good reputation, see if you have someone similar nearby

    ***Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice***

This game has held it's value far too well for my liking. Also can't decide between PC and PS5. But it's the only Souls I haven't beaten, so need to get on it!

    PS5 compatible headset recommendations?

That's fair, think mine were £20 when I got them - they were a cheap and cheerful. My previous set (creative fatality) were annexed by my children who murdered them, so I didn't want to spend too much!

Why GPU prices are NOT likely to drop significantly EVER!

Partalert had a 3060 for £320 earlier today. Things are starting to get there. Most importantly the more people hold off waiting for things to go down, the quicker prices will go down

    Total cost of gaming

PCs and consoles, maybe £3k over the years. Games...hundreds. hundreds and hundreds. I haven't bought myself a new 1440p monitor from guilt over doing up the house...but that's stuff that needs doing, not just my wife deciding she wants something therefore I have to pay for it lol

Is kayaking better than the gym?

Depends on your goals. In a kayak you can only increase resistance by adding weight or increasing speed, which is going to be great for building strength and cardio but won't help with building mass. On the plus side is outdoors :)

    Afghanistan - 20 years on

Sad state of affairs. A friend of mine did 2 tours in Afghanistan and lost a lot of friends over there. Really does seem like it was for no tangible benefit.

Why GPU prices are NOT likely to drop significantly EVER!

Think they will stick with RTX or keep the GTX line for the lower end?

    Hard Drive advice pls

Ha, quite right! Have a 2tb drive plugged into the router, OneDrive, and an offsite backup drive that gets synced every now and then nowadays It's VERY lucky that I'd started syncing all my work files to Onedrive a few months earlier - all my lesson plans and teaching resources would have gone...

What do AMD GPUs do better than Nvidia GPUs?
