Why is the government entitled to a slice of our wages?

Take the Amazon Google cases, both were in HMRC sites and both are directly competitive. I suspect one outcome/change was seen as better than the others (whilst neither may be wholly satisfactory) a grading of those two would likely push them towards tax 'competition' on the pair, a win for us...

Why is the government entitled to a slice of our wages?

Indeed, it was not I claiming that. But the tax office already assess the practices of avoidance in corporations and could make a reasonable grading, which could easily be made very public(as was in Amazons case)!

Why is the government entitled to a slice of our wages?

In the case of Amazon public knowledge and PR due to the issue did affect behaviour, why play whack them one at a time?

Why is the government entitled to a slice of our wages?

Well then Corporations won't mind the visible badge, it's already public knowledge and won't change anything :)

Why is the government entitled to a slice of our wages?

I agree it's bad legislation, we could legislate any trading entity display a 'badge' of the tax office opinion of their contribution, rather than the whack a mole news story / campaigns (one of which impacted Amazon's practices). Perhaps then we wont have people who work in corporate tax...

Why is the government entitled to a slice of our wages?

A little condescending, you don't work for PwC by chance :) http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-31147276 As I have said before, badge corporations based on the tax office opinion of their 'contributions' en masse, it'd be Interesting to see an enforced dirt brown tax badge on international...

    US: Mr. Robot

Not sure I disagree re Soprano's V wire and what a great problem to have (which is better), although the wire is pretty much the only five series (23eps per series) show I ever watched that seemed a cohesive and stunningly entertaining collection of discrete series that actually was about...

    US: Mr. Robot

Everyone is entitled to an opinion, that said unless you have never watched anything other than the wire, sopranos etc this sort of statement is nonsense. S3 ep1 has promise and despite a hurried extra 2 episodes at the end of season 2 the quality of that series was in the absolute cream of the...

Looking likely that I wont see mine either. I informed gearbest that yodel had said it wasn't with them, gearbest said they'd chase it and suggested 7-10 business days from ordering is likely. After 10 business days since order/dispatch I contacted gearbest to warn I would cancel if it didn't...

Amazon Echo - anyone have one?

If I had a pi around I'd be looking at picroft/mycroft too (much as alexa has a lot of traction atm). https://mycroft.ai/blog/mycroft-now-available-raspberry-pi-image/

    Bladerunner 2 (Spoilers!)

I haven't seen a reaction to a film here as positive as this, in many ways I rate that more interesting than the paid critics!

I've got a midrange snap dragon so Ill see soon enough, if you believe phones with similar specs but different oems/software generally perform the same, that hasn't been my experience!

Not likely the case as software is relevant, but maybe, I'll double check for you, but I wont try and compare it to a processor or phone that costs an extra 50%

Id like mediatek to be more competitive as the big names seem comfortable with each other. If they'd open up to community/free software efforts more it could be a start. That said, the others have zero interest in £45 phones! The more people (who probably haven't seen it) shoot down the...

Have you used an Elephone S8 and are you/people trying to compare it to a Samsung Galaxy S7? If so a refurb Samsung S7 is still well over £100 (or an extra 50%) more expensive than an Elephone S8. The relevant comparison will be to the Lenovo P2 (snapdragon 625/3Gb type device) as it was...

Are you talking about two similar priced items bang for buck with the vernee and s7/s8, tell me you don't mean samsungs? With the P2 I'm pretty willing to forgive short comings in a range of areas, because dat battery :) It's a punt and probably will be way worse than it's spec sheet suggests...

Xiaomi until recently only put out phones with cack all over android (imho) so they've been a non starter. I already have a Lenovo P2, it'll be interesting what a similar priced but riskier brand like elephone are putting out with the S8 (if it ever arrives). My previous lenovo A820 was...
