    Breaking in a bike engine

Most of the guys i know that run race engines certainly at UK Club level thrash the engines as soon as they are warmed normally, on a brand new engine the main importance is on using as much sharp engine braking as possible. Hard acceleration without too much redline, and then sharp...

    Mondeo ST24

Rich, Let me have a look at what i have going on over the next two weeks and i will see how much its going to cost etc for me to get back down there at short notice, if it is during the week then it isnt a problem because the trains are cheaper and the Missus is working anyway :D Bit of a...

    Mondeo ST24

Rust? there isnt any, apart from on the brake discs where its been sat for the last week in the rain :D the train is the best way down (i use it every weekend from Edinburgh as its a 5hr sleep :D) but it isnt what i would call cheap unless you are booking well in advance, but if you wanted...

    Mondeo ST24

Sorry Richy, i think i might have made that about as clear as mud :D I work in Woolwich Barracks in London during the week and live in Edinburgh at the weekends which is why you would need to travel. The only reason i can't sell it before March is literally because i am on a month off work...

    Mondeo ST24

Jeez it seems like ages since i was a Don around here :D Richy, how far are you willing to travel? I have one that i havent advertised yet, but at 72751 miles for a 99 V Reg RSAP i might have what you are looking for ;) You are in Glasgow, i spend my weekends in Edinburgh, but the car...

    Police showing off!

if i were to tell you what a front wheel extraction is you would only end up breaking your car ;) lets just say its a last ditch attempt in a front wheel drive car to get out of a tight parking spot :D

    Police showing off!

Not too sure why anyone would think its the easiest move to perform, not quite sure why the paper would report it as a handbrake turn either, handbrake turns went out with the ark (due to snapping cables and losing control of the car) :D When i went through my training doing this stuff...

    Speeding motorbikes

get stuck in some traffic and have a bad day did we??? :D and yes if my speed reads 30 on the RSVR then generally it is 30 although i still tend to be going past cars who think they are doing 30, i guess it pays to have an accurate speedo ;) :D

    Accurate tyre pressures

Had one for nearly 2 years now, and its always read within .5 psi of any other guage i have tried alongside it, with it being a cheap Halfrauds one, i found myself doubting it one day until i checked it against a friends guage (all singing and all dancing Draper one that is used at the track)...

Not wanting to put you off trackdays @ Knockhill

The sad thing is, them muppets probably drive (if thats what they call it) like that on the road :( No discipline or idea whatsoever, thank god bike track days arent as bad as that :D

    Booked MOT too late

Doesnt make a blind bit of difference about the insurance, although if you rind an insurance company most will tell you that you are only actually insured for 3rd party when the MOT runs out, either way driving a car that you know to have an expired MOT apart from to the testing station is a...

Anyone got experience of yoshimura exhausts

But if it has no packing left in it, chances are its losing power, when the packing went on my MHP cans that i had on the Mille, it was down 8bhp ;) (packing isnt just there to deaden the sound, its also to provide back pressure where needed ;) ).

6 inch nail through the can like the good old days ;) :D

Anyone got experience of yoshimura exhausts

Oakesy who is this genius then? i tend to float around most of the BMCRC/KRC/New Era sort of stuff and chances are i have heard of him? I hear what you are saying about the 520 setup, i have that on my GSXR, but actually the biggest performance gain by far is a diet ;) :D oh and lighter...

Anyone got experience of yoshimura exhausts

agreed, if you can get a power commander cheaply enough, the big factor in it all is actually getting a decent tuner to map it all in, you would be surprised at how easy it is for a bad tuner to just plug one in and load a basic map and fool you into thinking its better ;) my GSXR750 is putting...

Anyone got experience of yoshimura exhausts

Slip ons dont give massive gains anyway, only when the standard can is baffled to death do they actually make much of a difference (at most 2-3bhp :) ) The Scorpion can we use is indeed on a track bike and it makes the ZXR400 sound like a ZXR750, on the road going ZXR400 we have a Remus can...

Anyone got experience of yoshimura exhausts

Actually there is nothing wrong with Scorpion, to suggest otherwise is nonsense as they are still used at least at National level in motorbike racing on various different bikes, we had an increase of 8bhp (at the crank) using a full system on the ZXR400 track bike we have compared to 5bhp that...

    Law on Loud Bike Exhausts?

Most of the newer race type cans now come with removeable baffles anyway so i wouldnt worry too much about it :) Akrapovic Arata Arrows Harris Micron (never really liked them, however the new GSXR one is awesome but far too loud :D ) Laser (not a big fan of these either) Two Brothers...
