Finding the wireless receiver on its own for a non-stupid price is impossible, everywhere is sold out. I already have 2 wireless 360 pads so I don't want to buy a third+receiver, but the damn thing on its own is rarer than rocking horse plop. :(

I doubt it very much, AFAIK only hard copy Valve games need to run through Steam. Should run just like an ordinary GFW game with securom etc.
