Just seen the prices, they have certainly increased over the years! Will have a look at other brands, my last build was 100% EK but they do look like the price have gone through the roof since.
My last build was hard tubing, I will admit I was considering soft tube this time to save some of...
Distribution blocks were just starting to appear when I last built a rig, they were all custom made and the cheapest quote I got for one for the old Parvum L1 case I was using was ~£1000. Are they now pre making them for popular cases? I will have a look as I liked the aesthetics, just not the...
I've decided it's time to go back to Watercooling for the current gen with the 4090 and 7950X. I just wanted to check if anything has changed much in the past 7 years since I last built a Watercooled rig in 2015?
Any new trends in reservoirs, pumps, tubing etc? Any new brands to check out? Or...
Sadly I believe that anyone who is waiting for the 3080 to return to MSRP will be disappointed.
Even if supply improves then I don’t believe that there will be a single U.K. retailer who will be able to sell a 3080 at MSRP without loosing money once their own costs have been taken in to account.
Probably has to be a Gainward Phoenix Golden Sample 1080 I got for my media PC back when the 1080 launched.
It was a fast card, in the top bracket for benchmarks on this forum at the time, however it went up in a puff of smoke a year later. I suppose I shouldn’t have been surprised.
I sell quite a lot on eBay from one of my companies and have for years now. Unfortunately I have noticed a massive increase in the number of people claiming issues with products over the past 18months and trying to scan the item for free. Simply from my own figures it’s gone up 8 fold on the...
I don’t believe that we will ever see this generation of GPU’s available at MSRP.
We have a perfect storm currently, the lack of supply caused by lack of foundry capacity combined with everyone working from home due to covid has been catastrophic. Add in the crypto boom at the start of the year...
I read the post from Gibbo to say that members with more than 50 posts should be able to see it but so far I haven’t seen any sign of a GPU deals section anywhere.
Don’t feel bad about getting so much for your 2080ti. I recently sold one I had spare for more than I paid for it at launch 2 years earlier. Demand is simply crazy currently, I had friends begging me to sell it to them!
It’s replies like this that are the reason that so few people actually post on forums. I never claimed to know what any individual had spent or claimed they hadn’t tried to help other customers.
From my own experience normally considerably less than 1% of customers have ever posted on a...
There are a lot of us in the same position sadly. Personally I have spent a lot with OCUK over the past 5 years, north of 10k. What I haven’t done is post prolifically on the forums with only a few hundred posts.
I get the impression that they are limited in what they can do by their website...
It sounds like they are stuck between a rock and a hard place with outdated forums and website. I will admit that it’s slightly frustrating to have spent north of £10,000 with OCUK over the past 5 years but not be able to get a card because I only made a few hundred post during that period...
I should have spammed the forums with posts over the years to get access to the members market by now but sadly I rarely post and mainly just read and see what’s going on.
Perhaps OCUK could give me access to it as a thank you for the over £2000 of ram I sent back to them a few years ago that...
Sadly you are correct, the world has gone mad.
I recently sold a 2080ti for the same price I paid for it at launch 2 years earlier. At the time I bought it, I thought it was an overpriced card that most people would skip. Never even dream I would get my money back 2 years later, utter madness.
They went fast today, I clicked on the link, the second I got the discord alert yet by the time I got past the spot the bot Capcha the page was dead. I wonder if they take the page down as soon as a few get it in their basket? It always sounds like people who actually see the buy option get one.
Linus is spot on with this, it’s a very clever move by Nvidia. By preventing mining farms from being able to flood the market with cheap gaming cards every time the crypto market crashes Nvidia forces gamers to buy new cards from them, keeping up sales and prices.
