Trialling a four day working week

Funny you should mention that, as one of the managers was dead against the ideas of a 4-day week as, and I quote, "I'm already bored on a 2 day weekend, why would I want another day off?!". Fair enough, it's their opinion but I thought it was tragically sad that they had nothing outside of work.

Trialling a four day working week

That sound tough to me, but hard to argue with a 4-day weekend! We discussed whether we would still opt for a 4-day week if required to work the full 37.5 hours but decided the 5th day would simply be spent recovering from work!

Trialling a four day working week

Yep, that's the theory behind it. A happier workforce = more productive. Whether that is maintained beyond 3-6 months is another matter! Additionally, a huge pull during recruitment drives and people are far less likely to leave the company which reduces time/money recruitment and training a...

Trialling a four day working week

Yes, we plan to pro-rata it to 85% of current allowance. NHS have some great options for flexible working. Hope you're enjoying 4-day weeks?!

Trialling a four day working week

Fair enough and thanks for the input. I don't know your circumstances of course, but would you turn down the offer of a 4-day week? We've taken quite the opposite approach and offered a 4-day week in lieu of a pay rises this year. Company salary bill remains the same, but everyone gets an...

Trialling a four day working week

Agreed. Everyone will be eager in the first few months and flying high on the novelty value of it. It's possible the trial will need to run for up to a year to ensure productivity remains high.

Trialling a four day working week

We've not gone with an additional break tbh, as full timers will only be doing an extra 30mins per day. Something to keep in mind though, thank you.

Trialling a four day working week

Hi all, I'm in a fortunate position in that I've convinced my managing director to trial a 4-day working week, starting next year. It's based on 100% pay for 85% working hours (32-hour week) and, most importantly, retaining 100% productivity. The trial will be for 3-months initially, extending...

*** The Car Cleaning Thread ***

A weekend in Cornwall left me with this. An hour or two later... Today's heat got to me in the end, so I ended up rushing it. Need to sort out a polish and wax combo whilst the paintwork is in half decent shape. Applied a coat of poorboys wheel sealant to one of the alloys. Will...

Bosch Dishwasher - E15 Error Woes

Hi all, Can anyone offer some advice on a dishwasher problem we're having? A brief history; Last week our integrated dishwasher (Bosch) threw up an E15 and E23 error code. The E23 code went away as soon as I replaced the pump. Sadly, the E15 code remains; At the end of a cycle, the pump...

    Odd PHP/mysqli bug

You're checking "if mysqli_num_rows($email)>1", which won't return true until the email address appears twice in the database. Try "if (mysqli_num_rows($email) > 0)". Also, I hope you're sanitising your user data :)

    BMW and M Power Owners

Anyone else received a letter from BMW about a recall to replace the front passenger airbag module? This is specifically for a 3-series e46. EDIT - Having just done some further searching, it seems a few people received it ages ago. I hope they'll give it a free wash and vacuum when they carry...

    4670k ~9 degrees idle and <0.9v

So I've just setup a 4670k with MSI B85-G43 mobo and I'm having a hard time believing Speedfan and CPU-Z. At stock speeds, I'm getting around 9-12 degrees idle temps on all cores with a Thor's Hammer air cooler. CPU-Z is reporting only .896 volts. Are these normal temps/volts for this chip? I...

    Audi owners in here!

Oh yeah, we are prepared to travel to see them. We're off to Reading today to view an A3 1.4 TFSI with 38k miles for £9000. The main reason for looking at the high mileage example is because it was 5 minutes down the road, so it made sense to go and test drive it. It just made me wonder about...

    Audi owners in here!

Hmm interesting. I can't say I've read anything about that particular issue. Although a quick google suggests piston failure could be for the 160/180bhp engines (for reference the one we're looking at is 125bhp)?

    Audi owners in here!

This looks like the perfect thread for my query. We're looking to buy an Audi A3 1.4 TFSI for my girlfriend to replace her A3 1.8T, as they look to be an ideal blend of power and economy. She does 3500 miles per year at most so she won't be increasing the mileage much in the time she owns...
