Hear what your saying but taking the side off your pc and attaching a floppy drive only to flash your card wouldn't be that much of a chore surely? It's definatley worth it. :) That bios should be ok, its the one I had as a back-up

ACPCUP, well don't cry when it all goes wrong then. Surely the sensible thing is to check 100% first? Maybe you know something I don't but never just assume when its a £150 card.

When I flashed my old 9800np to a 9800 pro I had that exact problem. Was I sweating that night :eek: I used an old PCI card to get a display to fix it.

Flashing the card is ok as long as you read the guides carefully and make sure you miss out none of the steps. If you back up your old bios then you should have no worries. Just make sure the card works 100% before you do it. I was still terrified until it booted up again.

Maybe I was lucky, mine came in a box, to be fair if it arrived in a Jiffy bag I might have been slightly annoyed. To be honest you do get more than the usual OEM stuff I have bought.

Hence the term "OEM" :rolleyes: Mine now shows as X800/X850 series, and running past XTPE speeds without problem. Best buy for ages.
