    Crucial Advanced RMA

Sorry for the horrendously late reply, you must have already gone through this process, but for the benefit for anyone that happens to stumble upon this thread, ill answer anyway: 1. You don't have to send the whole set back, unless they just dont happen to have your exact type of stick in...

    Post counter hates me

Hi, newly active in the forums but been a member for a while, finally took the dive. I’ve noticed my post counter decreasing for no apparent reason? When I tap on my contributions I can see 50+ posts, but looky at my silly counter saying 10 or something what is this conspiracy

    Seagate Firecuda SSHD, worth it?

Not a bad idea given that it’s a hyperx, just a little lazy now and saving it until I actually need it

    Seagate Firecuda SSHD, worth it?

I used to have a SSHD for my laptop too, it was good for OS when I couldn’t fit a second drive. I don’t really need an extra SSD, already got a spare one laying around unused :D. Just trying to find an excuse to get the new assassins creed, works about £25 if I pretend the firecuda is a boggo...

    Seagate Firecuda SSHD, worth it?

Thinking of upgrading my current 1tb 2.5 hsgt travelstar with a 2 tb firecuda, is it really worth it over a standard barracuda? Only thing really drawing me in is the free AssCreed game thrown in, but I already have a 240gb SSD for my OS and main software, just thinking of expanding capacity...

    Will 1070 be bottlenecked?

Unlikely to bottleneck, but if you are happy with it wouldn't hurt to OC a little

    Best graphics card under £450?

1080ti deffo, probably best to stick to big names too instead of pushing your luck with the cheaper ones.

    Budget graphics card ~£150

GTX970 best bang for buck, but double check compatibility with your current build, and can your PSU handle it? Will you have other bottlenecks such as CPU or RAM? Might be worth dropping us you current spec list

    GPU question

If you are UK based best to stick with EVGA or Gigabyte, won't be missing out much performance wise etc, but support levels are on point

    Wanting to upgrade my ram

Worst case, if you are a uni student or know of any uni students they get access to a free copy of OS or two ;)

    Console lifer taking the plunge.

£500 is a decent budget for your needs, but yea quad core would be a much wiser choice, i3 can suffice especially if on a tight budget, could maybe push it to an i5? Slap it alongside a 1050ti and you gold, or maybe something like a 970 for a bit more bang for your buck
  15. thekarrari

    Self build or Bundle?

Yea while 550w should be enough you'll rather have a safety overhead, also makes future upgrades less of a pain. And lol about the console life comment, could probably slap a 950 in his rig and he would think it's far superior to his 1080p30fps console

    Gaming headset

Course they work with PC, had two pairs, and even though they are pretty damn good sound wise, they are renown for their ****** durability. I just upgraded to a Hyper X Cloud 2 and wouldn't go back.

£150 to spend, not upgraded since 2010. Best bang for buck?

Depending on how much you care about maxing games, could even settle with say a 750ti or 960, then double up your RAM to at least 8gb, pretty decent setup that can run most AAA titles on medium settings 1080p60fps (ok maybe pushing it, but 30fps minimum and you'll be ******** on console players)

    advice on laptop

or again go with a mini itx system, here's my build from a couple years ago, used to move it around every few weeks, but luckily had a monitor in each spot so literally plod the little box in my suitcase and off I go. Alternatively, if you want serious gaming dont expect to drop less than...

    Best DDR3 based upgrade

Speaking of crazy parts prices, you would think prices would start coming down as the crypto craze calms down a bit. Good on Nvidia trying to crack down on big mining farms exploiting the cheaper consumer grade GPUs for better profit margins, should help bring prices down soon

    Casual Gaming Cheap PC

Link removed. here's my slightly outdated build, cost around £500 at the time but did have to bargain hunt cuz ITX stuff is bloody expensive. Could probably get similar spec with the newer stuff, 1050ti etc for a similar price. Also with your mobo choice keep in mind future upgrades...
