    which z790 mobo?

Yeah, I might just wait and see what the refresh brings.

    which z790 mobo?

sigh, thanks. That will teach me to check specs more carefully. 4x8 isn't a huge hit to the GPU, but it's not nothing, especially with a 4090.

    which z790 mobo?

I am intending to build a 13th gen system shortly, struggling to make a final mobo choice. I do know I want z790, with a gen 5 m2 slot. Will be either 13700k or 13900k, fastest 64gb ram kit I can find and a 4090. This is the shortlist so far My basket at OcUK: 1 x Asus ROG Strix Z790-E...

    4090fe box dimensions

Thanks, definitely doable, though a little tighter than I would have liked.

    4090fe box dimensions

Yes, hence the crazy part, and the request for dimensions, if it isn't long enough to work with i won't bother. The intent would be to use it as a "skin" over a structural frame.

    4090fe box dimensions

Would any lucky buyers of the 4090fe be willing to measure their box and post the dimensions here please? I want to do a crazy project, building a case inside the outer shell of the box.

The Ada Lovelace RTX 4090 Owners Thread

Weird question, speaking of the box, what are it's dimensions? I have this crazy idea to make a case the same size and skin it with the outer part of the box.

    NVIDIA 4000 Series

To anyone who got the 4090 fe, could you measure the box it came in. I have this crazy idea to build a whole PC inside the box, or if it is not sturdy enough, in a case of my own making that is the same size.

    Cheap but good case mod

I did something similar, pretty much the same parts and costs. Looks good and i have found it pretty useful.

Secret lab titan Evo 2022 or noble hero black edition?

Tip for the lumbar support noise. I have found that if I dial it back to zero when not in use it then it makes much less noise, sometimes none. I realise this is a workaround and not ideal, but if it stops the noise driving you crazy that is something at least.

Change of plan to a new build

What are your criteria for the case? I originally went for a Silverstone Sugo S14 because it perfectly fit the space I had. Then i had to move my setup and made my own case, specifically tailored to minimise the footprint.

That's how I feel about it too.

    Looking to Build

One note, you have non K cpu there, so you wouldn't need a z690, a b660 would be just fine.

    30xx Series Founders Edition

I wanted to get corsair's own, but it was out of stock at the time, so I got one from modDIY for $22.99, it's been fine for the last 6 months.

Not sure that would be viable, with all current cases made to fit existing standards.

I literally made my own, using aluminium extrusion beams called Makerbeam for the frame, with abs and acrylic panels I cut to size myself. Thread here https://forums.overclockers.co.uk/threads/rehousing-my-build-into-homemade-case-made-of-makerbeam.18940201/

All cases come with compromises. Pick a case with compromises you can live with. Or do what I did, make your own and decide on your own compromises.
