I reckon there are too many companies for a price fixing conspiracy there is just too much on the demand side of supply and demand equation pushing prices up. Hopefully as new fabs and processes come on line the cost will start dropping again but that is not likely till end of this year at the...
That sounds good lioke the sound of price crashes just can't wait till 2019!
From what I have read the whole of this year will be high prices with maybe some small increases at the end of this year but likely early 2018 when prices will go down to what they were last year.
Agree with others saying 1500X would be worth it.
The other good thing about the AM4 B350 board for the 1500x is it gives you lots of options to upgrade in the future either with more cores or in 3 years time with the latest AMD tech.
I agree with Danny75 build will have a lot more Cpu power and will feel a lot snappier because of ssd.
Second hand 970 is a good call which should be accessible for £100 or less.
I would make sure i5 2500k is overclocked to ~4.5Ghz. 8GB Rx 480's are great value now at ~£200 so that would be my choice to max out 1080p (pressuring you monitor is 60Hz).
For me I would definitely look to upgrade for a larger ssd as this would at least for me make a big difference.
