@Mercutio This looks like a good fit for my hand as well, tempted to get one.
Does the mouse remember software settings when it's unplugged and plugged into a PC without the software? E.g. a Linux PC.
There is (or was, haven't played for a while) a bug with DX12 on WoW (both retail and classic versions) which caused a recoverable driver crash randomly. This was on the 7900XT/X models only I think.
Other than that one issue I've had no other problems with AMD drivers at all.
This is the absolute worst aspect of buying a GPU nowadays, and there's no way to avoid it except blind luck.
"Solutions" involve reducing your framerate or power consumption/performance to levels below what the card was sold at.
At best you will be lucky enough to undervolt your GPU to get...
7950X (non-3d) might work for you. Zero issues about thread scheduling and a bit cheaper than the 3d version.
The 3d cache, while good, does not give as much of a boost on the 7000 series compared to the 5000's as DDR5 main memory is faster (so I heard anyway).
Additionally the 3d cache cores...
Any rumours that they might do a 12/16-core single CCD with 3D-cache chip at all?
Haven't been watching the tube much lately so out of the loop. But my next upgrade will have to be a full platform shift as I'm on a 5800X3D right now so waiting for more than another 8 core.
Strange, the only thing I can think of is that dropping the settings allows some part of your GPU to run so fast it needs to throttle back?
Have you enabled g-sync with the OLED though? Perhaps the feeling of not being quite right is from not having it enabled and you are noticing the slight...
Had a quick play this morning before work, getting a reasonable ~80-90fps on a 7900XT and Ryzen 9 5950X with 3440x1440 res High quality settings.
It seemed to like the "fast timings" setting on the graphics ram and gave 3-4 fps just by turning that on.
Strangely even though it clocks all the...
Mostly but not always, I had a 6700 XT that squealed like a pig but a 3070 right next to it that didn't make a sound.
Both MSI Gaming X models with relatively low power draw compared to the top end.
So far...several hours in Aliens: Dark Descent without issues. 1060mv froze after a couple of hours.
As someone else said though, with the XT the max is 1100mv compared to the XTX's 1150mv, so its only -30.
I also noticed a slight imperfection on the cold plate right where the GPU would sit. A tiny sharp raised bit which I did my best to smooth out.
So I still don't think I have the perfect mount but its well within a hotspot range I'm comfortable with at full power draw. And I've seen it boost...
Can anyone who bought the 7900 XT Pulse tell me what max GPU hotspot temps they get while under load please?
I just put mine in a waterblock (The Alphacool one for the Nitro+ line fits fine with this by the way) and I am getting great GPU temps around 45-50C under load but hotspot is hitting...
That's a pretty awful upgrade when seen in that context.
Especially given historical trends of a 30%+ performance boost at equivalent price when a new gen releases.
Aaaaaaand....I just upgraded lol. The Sapphire 7900XT Pulse with Starfield code for £699.95 was just enough to tip me over. Especially as I am still keeping my old 3090 for the living room.
Great card as well, quiet and low coil whine.
Well that's a definite backfire for them as I think this is the first generation I'm skipping out on since my first GPU the Voodoo 3 2000.
I'm not sure about that one, given that every CPU sold must also have an accompanying motherboard sold with it as well. And as such every CPU upgrade where...
