Well that's already a known downside to IPS panels: poor blacks. But, it makes everything else look 100% better than any other panel out there.

Try undervolting it (found 1100mV to be stable), and run it again. Shouldn't run as hot if it's using less juice. If all else fails, like the others have said, send it back - just know that it may be a while before you get a replacement, though.
