Great improvement to HDR with new firmware. Finally! Now just need to amp up the brightness a little more. Be interesting to know what the sustained brightness is at now.

Well Samsung make their own VA panels, and they are actually the fastest VA panels on the market, by a long shot. So if anyone else made super ultrawide miniLED, you better hope they use an IPS panel, because all other manufacturer's VA panels are slow as hell at this stage.

Well its not up to Tim to release the firmware, that would be upto Samsung. I guess all Tim did was give an insight on when Samsung told him it would be released, whether Samsung keep their word or not, is another question.

When does this new firmware drop? Almost end of the month now.

Man I am so sorry to hear you guys are having HDR issues on your panel. My Neo G9 looks incredible in HDR, very vibrant, no washed out colors, heaps of brightness, sometimes too much. And I do have a CX48 rite next to it to compare it to, so I am not trying to blow smoke here. Very unfortunate...

HWUB said it reaches over 2000 nits in HDR dynamic mode but only on a 10% window. And almost everyone who reported having issues with HDR in gaming have said that HDR in videos look great and proper, just not the games.

The latest firmware update slightly improved HDR Standard. Not a huge improvement, but a step in the rite direction.

Some one has measured hdr standard easily does over 1000 nits, but no where near 2000 nits. Dynamic can briefly reach 2000nits.

I don't mind dynamic mode, the only thing I really dislike about it is the raised blacks. It makes night time and dark areas in games look like crud. Otherwise, I think dynamic is great, obviously a lot of people would not agree with my taste lol

I have managed to get HDR standard + dimming auto looking good using a reshade in games. I just enable DPXp.fx, and or levels.fx and fine tune it with the slider and I can make games bright and vibrant in hdr standard, basically removing the dimm film that takes over the screen when auto...

Unfortunately i don't think it does. But I don't think it's something that can't be fixed with software update. I can see all the potential there, it just need to be properly unlocked.
