Must admit, walking around town on a break from work, doing normal things with the AirPods on is great, grabbing a coffee and having the music pause whilst you take a pod out then start again seamlessly when you put them back in etc is so good.

Wow, those CD type mounts seem very good! Checking them out, never seen that type before.

This last week I've tried three different CM13 based roms and now of them seem as finished or as smooth as the Google base based roms. So I've went back to a new Google base rom and stuck xposed on it with Gravity box.

As a Nexus user and probably future user, I'm EXCITED :D

No, never had that. Are you restoring from a local backup or from Google Drive? Drive backups work very well for me when swapping devices etc.
