Rockstar confirms Grand Theft Auto V

please please please change the shadows! They might not look so bad at console resolution, from the other side of the living room, but I couldn't stand them. Sort that out, put in some AA, and I think we'll all be happy.

    Logitech Harmony 785

It doesn't come with a reciever, as they're primarily designed to replace existing remotes. I've used mine to replace a standard MCE remote, which was simple to do, but you do need to have a receiver. Any cheap one microsoft standard one should do.

new ATI 5770, now I'm not HDCP compatible

Thanks for all the advice guys, I used the arcsoft HDCP checker, an found it was the HDMI cable which wasn't up to scratch. One quick swap, and hey presto, blu ray time :)

new ATI 5770, now I'm not HDCP compatible

I just have the one display plugged in, into the HDMI socket. I would try the dongle, but unfortunately I've sold my old card with dongle, so I could have to go and buy another. thanks for help

new ATI 5770, now I'm not HDCP compatible

I hope someone out there can help, I've been using TMT3 for blu ray playback for some time (and powerdvd before that) with no problems via my 4870. I have just upgraded to a 5770 though, and when I got it I thought it was strange that there was no DVI=>HDMI dongle. But then I realised that...

Problems recovering from sleep in Windows 7

I'm a big fan of sleep mode, and the only time I've ever had a problem with powering up and getting a black screen, are when the PC has decided to update and reboot itself when I'm not around, then it sits at the log on screen, gets bored, goes to sleep, and never comes back to life properly...

PES Demo - they've given too much!

That sounds like a bit of an own goal. I fancy a quick 10 mins of footy now and then, and this demo sounds like just what I need. I remember years ago when James Pond 2: Robocod was demoed on 3.5" floppies on various magazine covers, then a cheat got out which unlocked the entire game, it...

Urgent Help Pls - ATI 4890 to HDTV

Good point about sharpness ^^ Have you dissabled overscan? I've always had a problem where CCC tries to shrink my image by 15%, so it's too small and not pixel mapped. When I first got round this I set my Sony Bravia to stretch the image to fit the screen, but this is wrong, as you're using...

New nvidia GPU card launch October 30th

They had organised a free cocktail bar, and a massive punch bowl, but then they realised that one of the guests was going to be wearing an ATI tie, so to help us ,the consumer, get the best performance from the party, the Alcohol was dissabled. I hear there is a hack doing the rounds, just...

*** Official omg I just got my 57xx thread ***

Well, its in, it works fine, and its a fair bit smaller than the 4870 (and easier to fit in my HTPC by a long way). It clocks down nicely when idle, but only to 400 core, 900 memory when I'm watching TV, which is not as good as I expected. Temp wise, it sits around 48 degrees, rather than...

    Display port to HDMI cable

I'm not sure exactly what you mean by passive and active adapters, but you certainly don't need an active adapter to go from DVI to HDMI. I used a ****** cable for a while, then changed to a standard HDMI cable attached to the adapter (passive) which ATI bundle with their cards.

    4890 or 5770

all you need to know...... http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showthread.php?t=18065536 to surmise, the 4890 is more grunt for your money, but if you want things like low power/heat, DX11, eyefinity or trueHD then the 5770 might be worth a punt

World of Goo 1 year old today - Pay what ever price you want for it!

Regarding all this talk of marketing, I can't quite see what the point is in marketing a game to people who only want to pay $0.01. Marketing is only worth what it'll generate as sales, and I can't see any way whatsoever that someone paying a pitance for this game means that the marketing is a...

    4870 to 5770 swap, drivers?

Thanks everyone, it seems like installing over the top is the way to go. Being naturally lazy I was hoping this would be the case!

World of Goo 1 year old today - Pay what ever price you want for it!

I'm a little depressed as to how many people are paying $0.01. I know you CAN do this, but surely that doesn't mean you SHOULD do this. Surely if people can't be bothered to even spend a whole $1 it means this is an experiment which no one is going to repeat in a hurry.

    4870 to 5770 swap, drivers?

Thanks, I did wonder if I just stick it in, turn on, and run the new catalyst installation. I did this last time (4870 512 to 4570 1Gb) and it was fine (and kept the profiles!) but this seems like a bit more of a change.

    4870 to 5770 swap, drivers?

Hi, I've taken the plunge and ordered a 5770 to replace my room heater of a 4870 (everything else in my PC is silent, but I couldn't get rid of all the 4870's heat). What's the best, 100% foolproof way to change drivers? I'm at 9.6 at the moment, and I guess that even though they're all ATI...
