The menu buttons are horrid. I have to use a torch in the evening if I want to mess with this monitor's menu because not only are the buttons totally inline with the monitor casing (they don't stick out at all and you cannot discern one from another by touch very easily), but they also have no...
Just got my OCUK 24" and I'm very pleased with it so far. Looks basically the same as the Yuraku -- you get HDCP with the Yuraku, but you get an extra DVI cable with the OCUK. That's about the sum of the differences I can see so far.
Hopefully this one won't break inside the week.
You...
I quoted the sale of goods act in my support ticket just in case the etailer decides to try and fob me off. I won't let it drop so they may as well just give me the refund.
Indeed. I had my Dell P1110 for about 5 years before a brightness problem made it hard to use, and it was a refurb.
... and like clockwork just when I thought I'd got myself some flaw free cheapo ace monitor action, it's gone all faulty on me. A line of dead (black) pixels just appeared tonight as I was playing. :/
I'm going to get a refund for the Yuraku I think. Btw the e-tailer I ordered it from are...
I don't know, really. For gaming this is top notch. I had a Dell 21" with a trinitron tube and followed that up with a viewsonic VP201. The viewsonic was dire for gaming compared to the CRT, but this is very good indeed. I can't see any colour streaking or ghosting and the input lag is not...
Just had my first night of gaming with the yuraku. Absolutely brilliant. No perceivable input lag, first class response time + huge screen = winner. It's almost like playing on a CRT again -- near indistinguishable.
Just got my Yaruku too. Jesus Christ I didn't realise 24" was so big. I've got my 20" sitting next to it and it's like a malnourished dwarf... I was always of the impression that 24" monitors are more or less the same vertical height as a 20" -- not so. This is slightly bigger still...
I've ordered the Yuraku (mainly for the HDCP as my brother has a PS3) so I'll let you know what it's like. I've read some excellent and some terrible reviews, so let's see what the luck of the draw is like. I'm not sure I can tolerate a crap black level though (been using a Viewsonic VP201B...
Plenty of expensive PVA/IPS screens come with very poor pre-configured colours; spending £150 more on a monitor doesn't really mean that it will be better unless you have access to calibration hardware. Look at most reviews and you'll see even expensive models often come with horrible...
Why are you running an E6600 @ 3.4Ghz and then moaning about the piddly power consumption of a 17" monitor? Everything uses power. Overclocking a CPU increases the power consumption quite a bit...
I was seriously thinking about ordering one of these, but I think I might as well just wait until they sort out the TN lottery :)
Anyone fancy doing some input lag testing in the meantime to convince me to part with my dosh? ;)
