    EE 1.8Gb

Exactly so! We are in the golden age now where we stream in 4K and at 3 meters on a 55" TV I can't see the pixels. Realistically, households won't go higher because you'll need a bigger TV and sit further away to get the benefit. I'm not sure I have the physical space for that without impacting...

Question for the real network specialsts

1GbE is full duplex Wifi is half duplex This means that on a speed test, the GbE will hit near enough the full 1GbE. However, on a 1Gb Wifi PHY connection you'll not even hit 500Mbps. So, in real terms, a 2Gb Wifi connection is equivalent to 1Gb Ethernet connection. The other reason is that...

*** Official Ubiquiti Discussion Thread ***

I swapped out my U6-Lite for the U7 Pro. It sits at the point of ingress, near my front door of a 4 bedroom house. At the opposing corner, one floor up, I used to get around 30Mbps. I now get 250-300Mbps on the 5Ghz band. The extra range you get from it is simply beastly! The speed itself wasn't...

toob users, what router did you get given by them? Just been installed, they left me a Linksys Velop MX4200

CGNAT is only for IPv4. Enable IPv6 on your router and setup a BQM to your routers IPv6 address. On Toob over CityFiber, my BQM chart is pretty poor compared to the one I had on Virgin, but frankly I don't notice anything bad playing games, streaming or conference calls with 3 kids at home all...

toob users, what router did you get given by them? Just been installed, they left me a Linksys Velop MX4200

CityFiber dug into my drive and took the shortest route to the house where they slapped a brown box on the wall and then took cable from there to my desired point of ingress. Quite narrow channel, hardly notice it. It was a clean install, no issues other than an hour wait for the line to get...

OK, so you're behind CGNAT and google will blacklist you because the same IP will hammer their DNS hard. That might be the issue. Either use Google's IPv6 DNS servers OR use Toobs. I use Toobs personally and don't see a need to change.

I just get all green lights on that site. Did you override your DNS at all on the router? Aside from uPNP, Wireless SSID and passphrase, it's all at stock settings.

Connectivity -> Internet settings -> IPv6 Connection Type: Automatic IPv6-Automatic: enabled Give it a few to negotiate and then check Trouble shooting -> Diagnostics There should be an IPv6 address under Internet Address. That's all you need on the router. Clients will should have IPv6...

toob users, what router did you get given by them? Just been installed, they left me a Linksys Velop MX4200

I just had Toob installed, replacing my Virgin Media 250 connection. Swapped out most of my Ubiquiti gear (USG, NanoHD, FlexHD, CloudKey) for the Toob LinkSys router - the MX4200 Velop. 2 days in I'm a happy man - wireless gets a better signal all around the house and in the darkest corners I...

Which 240Hz monitor? 28 Different Options!

An advantage? Maybe. Back in the day when every weekend LAN parties were a thing, my bro at a PC where Duke Nukem 3D was barely playable at the size of a credit card on his CRT. On my PC, he got slighty more FPS at full screen - I think I was rocking 640x480, but could be wrong. But then full...

Which 27" 1440P Curved Gaming Monitor to buy?

I bought GIGABYTE AORUS CV27Q 27" 2560x1440 VA 165Hz 1ms FreeSync 2 HDR400 Curved Backlit Gaming Monitor. It arrives tomorrow, Sunday. I'll try and post a quick write up for it as there's not many reviews for it. But really the curved 27" 1440p choice is really quite small from what I've seen.

    LG 34GK950G, 3440x1440, G-Sync, 120Hz

Coming from an ASUS ROG Swift GSync TN panel to the LG 34GK950F IPS I very much disagree. That could be that GSync never worked very well for me using a GTX770 card and FreeSync works better using my now Vega64LC making blanket statements about TN or IPS is pretty false these days. We have good...

    LG 34GK950G, 3440x1440, G-Sync, 120Hz

So I just got myself a Google Home Mini and am enjoying it thus far, but it did spark a thought..... Can I plug a Chromecast in via the HDMI (Keeping the PC on the DP)? The answer is obviously yes, but what is not obvious is how to get the audio out from it. Will it be avaible from the audio...

AMD Vs. Nvidia Image Quality - Old man yells at cloud

Yes there is. ZIP is a lossless compression. It's just that in this area, vendors choose lossy compression for less CPU and memory requirements.

Radeon VII a win or fail?

Not feeling compelled to upgrade from my nearly silent Vega64 LC in any way or form. So while not a win, I don't see it as a loss either as the VII seems better initially received than the Vega.

Will you be buying a Radeon VII?

I could sort of understand if this was a Liquid Cooled variant (love my Vega64LC), but this sucker is on air! Is there some production issue or just a lack of confidence from AMD?

which is better g-sync or freesync?

nVidia and ASUS couldn't get GSync to work on my ROG Swift and GTX770 without flickering or *any* game I had in the top left corner of the screen. That's after RMAing the panel a few times. Couldn't RMA the GTX770 as it was already well out of warranty. That's even more pathetic.
