Temps on the cpu with 4.8 all cores at 1.28 vcore max out around 75c which isn’t great. I had it at 5ghz but temps were too high will delid the cpu when I drain the loop for primochill vue to be put in should easily get the clock up.

According to the configurator the EKWB asus M9H monoblock will fit the Maximus X Hero which is awesome news!!!

Its not really the socket Its not the socket i'm concerned about. Its whether the motherboard blocks will fit the same to cool the vrms etc.

I was leaning that way too but i've just come across a post from 8pack saying hes doing a bundle for the asus apex 8pack mem and cooling which sounds tempting depending on the price.

If the choice of cooling includes a water block I'll jump at this if its out in early Nov

Thanks for the insight I hadn't picked up on the better sound on the gaming 7. I've always wondered why people have a bad opinion of gigabyte boards. They seem to look great and have good stats but other peoples opinions of them have put me off buying one at the moment.
