but new mobos can have, shall we say, teething problems? i'm not looking to upgrade after this for years. probably 5, possibly more. the only reason i can think of to go for ddr5 is bandwidth for the cpu's
staxrip and handbrake can surely make use of them no? video encoding is fairly simple to split up jobs between cores. afaik they all use the same basic exe's. that being said, i saw a review of the 5950x vs 5900x on anandtech and the difference in some encodes was minimal and the 5900x had a...
yeah, i heard that on linus tech tips. problem with gpu encoding is (afaik) you don't get the same kind of control as you do with cpu encoding. still want to game and intels stuff kinda has ?? all over it for some games. especially pre dx12 games which i have yet to play (gta 5 for example)...
because i need more ram than what i have, i need a faster processor since video encoding is a slog with this 10 year old quad core. especially since i am thinking about encoding to av1 instead of hevc
not for work, for home. just fed up with my old 3570k and no gpu (popped during covid). i'll get one by the end of the year i think.
not sure if prices historically go up closer to xmas or not.
i have a bunch of drives (sata/spinners) so looking for a board with at least 6 sata ports and 2 m.2 ports for new 1x 1TB 980 pro from samsung and 1x 1TB at least 3500MB/sec.
pre builds i've seen are about £2k, i'm curious how much it would cost
oh, and i'd need a copy of win 11 home.
thanks...
today, for me, (and yest actually) it just says that no one is accepting new patients. got my anti biotics at least, hopefully get an emrg app tomorrow morn and then on to private for an implant.
but what about the people that can't afford that? just keep getting infections, keep getting put on anti biotics over and over until a spot opens up? odds are you'll be in hospital eventually since your gut flora is messed up.
been running around like crazy. took me 2 days to get anti biotics, 2 days of no emergency appointments and no one's taking new patients. going to have to go private.
looking to replace an old system which is slowly dying but it still meets the performance i need. 16GB due to video encoding and other stuff. might choose a 250GB ssd and the OS install. no gpu needed (have another PC for gaming and more dedicated encoding so built in graphics would be fine. i...
