I want my laptop to prompt for a password before Windows loads. I set this up in the BIOS and it worked for about two weeks, but then the PC somehow forgot all about it and just started loading with no password prompt. I tried to configure it again, and the exact same thing happened.
I have a...
I love the way the images slide in and out of view. Click one of the pointing hands at the bottom of an image:

Does anyone know how to do this?
:confused:
You beat me to it!
What is interesting is that people who say "barf" instead of "bath" will often correctly pronounce "the". If they were really incapable of making the "th" sound surely they would pronounce it "fe" or "ve"?
Is it to do with the difference between the soft and hard "th"...
"THERE'S PROBABLY NO GOD" refers to any god people may have selected as the "right" one. It's beyond me how anyone can decide which one they think that is, given the total lack of evidence for any of them.
To the OP, I find it comforting that every animal in history has died or will die. I'm...
Hi,This problem has only arisen in the last few weeks. Until now I've never had any issues with sound playback.
It's most apparent when a file is playing in iTunes/Winamp and I'm browsing files on a separate physical hard drive, although it can happen any time, to a lesser degree. The problem...
Another vote for some of the classics:
"d'you know what I mean?" After every sentence
"at the end of the day" After every other sentence. These first two have precisely the same meaning (none) and are 100% interchangeable. Sometimes you may be lucky enough to hear them consecutively!
"to be...
On the CPU tab in CPU-Z it says;
Clocks (Core#0)
Core Speed: 1200.0 MHz
Multiplier: x 6.0
Bus Speed: 200.0 MHz
Rated FSB: 800.0 MHz
Is the Bus Speed incorrect?
Ah ctrl+f1 is now working for some reason. I changed the timings in the bios and CPU-Z is now telling me;
Frequency: 300.0 MHz
FSB: DRAM: 2:3
CAS# Latency: 4.0 clocks
RAS# to CAS# Delay: 4 clocks
RAS# Precharge 4 clocks
Cycle Time (Tras): 12 clocks
Is this correct? Where the hell does...
Hmmm... The only option I have in the bios is to change the memory multiplier. I can't specify the individual 4-4-4-12 timings. Is this normal? I've seen screenshots that prove this is possible.
I pressed ctrl+f1 but nothing happened! Any ideas? :confused:
No overclocking yet - I'm just soaking up the speed boost since replacing my P4 3.06/512MB RAM!! Vista is so smooth!
From what I've heard though the C2Ds o/c really well so I'll probably be tempted soon enough...
Thanks :) I'm sure nothing happened when I pressed ctrl+f1 but I'll try again!
It's taken all day to get my baby back up and running after installing new mobo, cpu (6400) memory, gfx, fresh Vista & NEC 20WGX2! My eyes must be going square!
I just upgraded my motherboard to a DS3 and installed this memory: http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MY-058-GL
Apparently the speed of this memory is set low by default and you have to unlock the proper speed manually? I don't know much about it but I can't find where to do...
