Two of my radiators are the same as this (both bathroom ones). I had TRV valves fitted to them so I can turn them off in the summer. I generally keep them on most of the year though.
You have a very similar house to mine (same brick). Mine was built 1996 too - Wainhomes.
I had the same vent and as per above, it was the old kitchen extractor. The new vent now goes out of the side of the house. I took the old vent out and bricked it up.
Number one for me is always location/area. You can do whatever you want to turn your house into a home but you can never change the location of your house.
We are in a house now that is a 3 bed Detached with downstairs large extension, Garage, nice size garden, has eveyrthing we need in a...
Agree with this. Replacing with hard floors doesnt solve the issue - just makes it easier to clean. Artificial grass where the dogs go is a life changer. No more constant mud for the majority of the year.
Walks - just hose them down (if needed) and dry them off with a towel when you get back.
It does look very similar to my Solidor too. if they weren't Fensa or Certass registered, they should have officially had the door signed off from local council bulding control. Have you searched the building register from your local council too, as it may say who the installer was?
If it...
The valuation was part of a homebuyers report so he also had access to view internals and reported on any defects (of which there arent any hugely detrimental defects). I've advised them I will cover some of the difference but not all so ideally we would meet someone in the middle. If they arent...
Anyone have any advice on what to do about a surveyor down valuing a property we are buying?
Purchase price is £250k but has been valued at £225k. I have raised the issue with the Sellers estate agent. I'm not prepared to go to £250k now that the surveyor has only valued it at £225k but happy...
I remortgaged to a fixed rate recently with the same provider (Nationwide) and there were no checks done. Possibly a credit check but it was all done online within a few minutes.
There are a few point to consider for yourself
What will your LTV be? 95%, 90% or 85% etc..
The lower it is the more I would say fix for 5 years if possible.
90 or above either fix for 2 or go on a tracker.
We fixed for 2 years last year at 90% LTV and have overpaid enough to be under the...
I'm currently getting quotes for my driveway at the moment too. Similar size to your 69m2.
Couple quoted at £4500 and have had a couple between 3500-4000. This is for tegula like yours but move a wall and paving over front garden where it is currently grass. So it seems reasonable
Sold my first car privately today, went very smoothly. My old Ford Focus 2001 Ghia.
Put it up last week and had a few calls yesterday and today. No time wasters luckily.
Needless to say it sold to the first person who came to view it as it is in mint condition. Got £350 more than part-ex...
Home serve with £75 cash back on quidco is £10 a month at the moment. I signed upto the deal last week.
There is a £50 excess for each call out. It also covers you for plumbing and electrics.

The newer help to buy scheme on old houses is purely a guarantee from the government to the mortgage lender that they will guarantee upto 15% of the loan if anything happens in the future. This new scheme is not a loan that you would have to repay.
