Images of items I have purchased (except trainers)

Currently doing up a much bigger project bike but who doesn't like a daft little mini moto. First thing to go was the daft stickers. Also - I'm definitely not going to put some stupid racing number on it ... like 81.

What "man jobs" have you done today?

Managed to repair my cordless drill (new capacitor soldered in and a general clean up).

What did you do to your bike today?

Jostled some parts (fender and headlight surround) about in the Evaporust tub ... which is evaporating as I now only have 3 of 5 litres left. There's a hell of a long way to go on my project but I'm still in the cleaning/derusting phase.

Heardle - daily quiz for music intros in spirit of Wordle

I feel they could've just used the singular first drum beat and everyone would get it.

I rebought my mum's 1973 Honda SS50. Tiny bit of history. This was her first "motorbike" when she was 16 and was eventually stored in my grandparents garage until 2012. It was covered in rust but only superficial and cleaned up to look like the below photo. Unfortunately I had to sell it in...

    Are you working over Christmas?

Used to work up to Christmas and just have the inbetween off as the office was absolutely dead, so it was a guaranteed easy time watching films and reading books. Now I have a kid it's nothing but literally crying over spilt milk and being constantly tired.

Superhero Gift for 4 Year Old (Charity)

Forget everything else in this thread ... this is the clear winner. What more could a kid so disadvantaged that a charity is helping him possibly need?

Superhero Gift for 4 Year Old (Charity)

Spider man completely. The show linked by lsg1r is quite new with plenty of merch available already. My little lad loves spider man more than any other super hero but he's only 2 and only just discovering them.

Kyle Rittenhouse - teen who shot three people in Kenosha

Stupid place - yes Dressed as action man - not one I ever owned Willing to kill - for the jury to decide The question is, do you think he'd have shot anyone if everyone just ignored him?

What's the largest sum of money you've ever placed on a single bet?

That's all true ... but the lottery doesn't give you your money back if you don't win. With the lost interest it's not a free bet but as you're more than likely to win smaller prizes, it's also not a dead loss. Of course this is all assuming you even want to "gamble" at all. I know that the...

    Christmas gift-buying tips

I tried suggesting a secret santa for all the adults but this was shot down by some "needy" members of the family. I much prefer the idea of getting food and drink for a big party and forget gifts for each other.

What's the largest sum of money you've ever placed on a single bet?

When compared to interest rates in savings accounts, if you have enough in PB and not incredibly unlucky then you usually come out ahead ... at least by a tiny bit. There's plenty of articles regarding this but the general consensus is that on average, if you have over £25k in there, you'll...

    Virtual Phone Number

Could a 2nd sim card cover this? If your phone supports two then you can easily seperate them. I say this having no real experience of it.

Stupid school rules/things you got told off for at school

I got told off and a "D-merit" in art for my admittedly rubbish self portrait. I'm not arty, but to be punished for it is a bit harsh. In primary school we used to get wrapped on the knuckles with a wooden ruler if we put our hands on the teachers desk. This was in the mid-90's but he was old...

    What is the combination probability?

Exactly this. I had a contractor let himself into the building I was working in once. When questioned how, he said that it was obvious what the numbers where on the keypad due to the build up of grime. Needless to say they were cleaning thoroughly after that.

    NHS wastage

The boxes hold a certain amount and are sealed. Once they are taken off site, you could be lacing them with all sorts, so they won't take them back and give them to anyone else. They must also be issued with the instructions/warnings/side effects/etc leaflet. It's not worth their time to take...

    £1,000,000 now or £10,000/month for 10 years?

People are worried about splurging the 1 million straight away but what about in 10 years when the 10k stops? I think with 10k a month you'd be more likely to experience lifestyle creep.

    Random Famous People You Met

I stood behind Zane Lowe at a Franz Ferdinand gig (they were support acts for Hot Hot Heat) before they made it big ... surely I get some sort of hipster badge for that?

Some cheap and cheerful fishing lures. These are actually a back up set to replace an identical set I currently use and have had lots of luck with. Absolutely perfect for perch in canals and I don't live in fear of losing them like I do with my rapalas.

Mortgages, help to buy, shared ownership

I can appreciate your view but I would say is that some people are entirely blinded by their expectations. 30% of a 4 bed detached might be better than 0% of it ... but what about the two bed semi a few streets away that you could afford in full? Obviously not a perfect example but I've found...
