    a laptop integrated GFX

Was just looking at the first link and had not gotten to that one yet. So it could be even worse. That could be very limiting then. Good to know.

    a laptop integrated GFX

Ok that would pretty much hit the nail on the head then and gives me a good idea. So it's about a 9200 or 9200+. Great. Thanks everyone. Just trying to determine what I could get away with graphically on a certain postential laptop. Cheers :)

    a laptop integrated GFX

Ok thanks again guys. I know nothing about these mobile integrated chipsets. Was just trying to get an idea of where it stands on the low-end, high-end sprectrum. But I see that this is very low end. Would you say that it's even more low-end than ATI 9200?

Would anyone here be able to roughly estimate off the top of their head what the Mobile Intel® 915GM Express Chipset is equivilant to on ATI or Nvidia GFX card terms? The GFX chipset overview: http://www.intel.com/products/chipsets/915gm/index.htm Thanks :)

    AGP volts (7600 GT)

Thanks for confirming that. It's one more thing I can rule out. The problem I'm having with the RC sim random exits is not a huge problem, but it does get annoying. AND it shouldn't be happening. Card can handle the sim... the GPU doesn't heat up to more than 55-56 C during play (2 to 3 C...

    AGP volts (7600 GT)

Ok thanks. If nothing else ends up being the culprit, I could try that. Normally slightly more volts can mean more stability. But I wonder if that counts on a card that feeds right off the PSU (didn't consider that factor initially). I dug up the other AGP related bios settings: video ram...

    AGP volts (7600 GT)

Ah I forgot about that setting. It's set at 66 Mhz (and the setting options are 66 to 99 Mhz). I don't remember what the reason was for that, but I remember that it's necessary to be able to OC the cpu at all. There's no "auto" setting. I would have to disable "user defined" fsb and multi...

    AGP volts (7600 GT)

Yep, that's plugged in and I selected a separate cable bundle for it (not a connector branching off from a in-use connector). edit: Hmm... does it's use of the separate power make the AGP volts more or less irrelevant? Again, it's at 1.5 v now. Any other bios settings that come to mind that...

    AGP volts (7600 GT)

Hey, Is 1.5 volts AGP enough for GeForce 7600GT? Because that's what I had set in my bios. I've had a very ocassional issue of my RC sim (FS One) suddenly terminating (no error messages, nothing goes haywire, it just stops and I restart it). It happens rarely, but it seems to be associated...

    ATI x850 or GForce 7600GT ?

Amazingly it appears to be unharmed. But since the RC sim is supposed to condition your reflexes for flying the real ones, I'll probably be obsessing for the next few days about if the controls feel right  But it seems totally fine and I've been enjoying the sim again on a new level...

    ATI x850 or GForce 7600GT ?

Hey guys, Got the 7600GT today. Works a treat. Only problem initially was that I had it hooked up to an old compaq presario moniter; it caused problems. But then hooked up my Samsung 753s and everything took off. Then GUESS what happens next? I dropped the controller box that comes with the...

    ATI x850 or GForce 7600GT ?

GPU OC'ing mischief is a whole realm of it's own ;) Never tried that side of OC'ing myself. Guess you'd have to change the cooler on it after the flash? Great help from everyone. I feel like I'm more or less up to speed enough to make a choice and know what I'm getting. Cheers :)

    ATI x850 or GForce 7600GT ?

Thanks for the tip. Starting to look like the 7600GT is it. I'm not sure about the x850, but the 7600GT GPU speed is 560 MHz. Club 3D has the video ram running at 1100 Mhz. x850 however is 256 bit whereas 7600GT is 128 bit, but sounds like 7600GT is plenty good enough. Yah, the reason I...

Awsome, sounds good. Thanks for your help :)

    ATI x850 or GForce 7600GT ?

Ah so it has a feature that x850 doesn't? Sounds good. That's a very interesting point. I didn't know that these cards consumed that much power... makes sense though when you think of the massive coolers they have (that heat comes from somewhere). My psu is a good one though... I have an Antec...

    ATI x850 or GForce 7600GT ?

Hey, I'm going to choose between these two cards most likely or very similar (partly based on local availability for me): ATI X850 XT (256 MB, 256 bit) Geforce 7600GT (256 MB, 128 bit)... this one a bit less expensive I need the card for a RC flying sim called FS One. I'm upgrading from a...

    slight gearbox issue

Thanks that helps give me an idea. My car is a 2007 Mazda 6 Hatch. Hopefully I get it back the next day at least... it goes in Friday around noon and they are open on Saturday, so perhaps they'll have time to get it done. I need wheels and preferably my own car over the next several days...

    slight gearbox issue

Would you estimate that one could do a synchro ring replace in say 4-5 hours at normal working pace? Just trying to predict whether it will be a possibility that it gets done that day. Might they need to lift the engine block to remove the transmission? Thanks for any ideas... just wondering...

    slight gearbox issue

Ok thanks. I've got schedule and time pressure, so it's good to have an idea. At least it sounds like something that takes a bit more time and care. I guess if I can't convince them, then breaking down on the road should do it eventually. It's annoying because it really feels dodgy between...

    slight gearbox issue

Yeah, something just doesn't feel right about the symptoms I've been noticing especially the grinding feeling from 1st to 2nd most recently. I know gearboxes are not the simplest part of the car, but can a mechanic pretty much race through it and get something like this sorted quickly?
