    Doing a spot of hiking

Id use the OS Maps app over Google Maps or similar. Consider buying the map for the area you're walking in, but even the included maps are OK if you're not going anywhere too remote and can get by with a bit of common sense. Unless I'm missing something or it depends on the area, Google Maps is...

The councils selling the family silver to pay bills

Council funding from central government has been reduced year on year. It is also inequitable in how it is allocated. Eg https://ifs.org.uk/news/large-mismatches-between-funding-different-areas-receive-public-services-and-their-spending#:~:text=The most deprived fifth of,of areas receive 3%...

    Remapping worth it?

+33bhp? Pah... This gives +35% for £5! https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/234544837276 Being serious, I had my Octavia VRS remapped (custom map on a rolling road) and it was noticeable, but not in every day driving. I don't think I'd bother in future on a daily driver... Maybe I'd consider it if it...

The 50k 10 Year Project / Show Car

I agree it's a massive cost and the potential for engine bills definitely put me off the speed six and ajp8. You'd hope any issues have been resolved by now and it shouldn't be too bad relatively speaking. Hopefully no further big bills if the engine is still all sorted with the known fixes. I...

The 50k 10 Year Project / Show Car

TVR running costs aren't generally especially high relative to the performance. Obviously they cost more to run than a Ford Focus, but generally speaking; Generally speaking, the older models (Chimarea/Griffith and earlier) largely used off the shelf parts. Availability is an isuse for some...

    Dyson air cooler - AM07?

Does anyone here know where I can get one of these DS DS4 allow wheel centre thingies (at sensible price)?

I'm not familiar with your car, but based on other cars with large centre caps covering the nuts I'd guess that there is a bolt holding it on. Is there an allen bolt head or similar in the small hole to the top centre of the picture? EDIT - Google results for DS4 wheel designs and yours looks...

Remove one from the other wheels and see if it has a part number on the reverse.

    Halford professional socket sets

The post above the one you quoted says it was £150 on a half price sale, so £300. Halfords tools are on sale so frequently unless you require something urgently you might as well wait for the next sale. Easter might be a good time to see if any offers are on and get a real price comparison.

    1700BHP per Tonne 1000BHP K20 Turbo Atom

I can't find the video I was looking for, but this one is also a good illustration Eau Rouge at Spa F1 cars overlaid with GT cars Correct me if in wrong, but I believe a lot of supercars aren't far off F1 cars now in terms of outright speed, but miles off in terms of cornering and braking...

How am I best sorting my Windows 11 laptop ready to sell?

I presume there's nothing critical to national security on there? Unless you are massively concerned that someone is going to try to recover your data, a factory reset will be fine https://support.microsoft.com/en-gb/windows/give-your-pc-a-fresh-start-0ef73740-b927-549b-b7c9-e6f2b48d275e...

Do Air Tags count as "Is the car fitted with a tracking device?" when getting car insurance renewals?

I think it makes sense for very high end cars, often in these cases a tracker is a requirement, but not for "normal" cars.

DIY-Kitchens Planner - can you stack units?

I think you could technically do it, but you'd have to find some way to join the units (chipboard end to chipboard end) and be left with a gap half way up where the base unit has a step for the plinth. To do it properly I think you'd be best off taking the units apart and re engineering them...

    Good bulb brands

    Sleep Apnea & Driving license

A friend had trouble sleeping at home which turned out to be sleep apnea. He didn't think he had any issues or tiredness when driving until he was driving with a passenger who informed him he was actually nodding and falling asleep for a few seconds multiple times, particularly when stopped at...
