No, virgin never said anything. M500 worked, no issues other than never getting the full speed, sam kmows would report back 511mb as the true speed, would only ever get around 300mb/s to the pc though. I cannot get sam knows working at all with the hub 5... no idea why yet! I will put the hub 5...

Anyone able to help? We moved from Virgin M500 to Gig1. Seems as if nothing has changed! speedtests would always top out at 200mb/s and this is still the case! been on gig1 for a month now. Hub 5 is in modem-mode wired via ethernet to a TPLink router, pc in the living room is wired via...

I re-used the little adaptor wire thing from the hub 3. The phone is now working, I waited for over and hour doing other things and it suddenly just worked! there are other little niggles I am noticing now, true speed testing websites like "Sam Knows" no longer works and complains I am not on...

    Virgin Media Discussion Thread

Thursday last week, decided to test my luck and have changed from M500 to Gig 1. VM sent out a new Hub. Currently using a Hub 3 in modem mode. Anyone know how long does it take to switch over? currently everything is still sat on M500.

Trying to fix/save an old Dell E525w or C1765nfw. Is there any information online at all?

This is a long shot! Some years ago we bought a Dell E525w colour laser printer. It has worked pretty much flawless up until last week. Now it has decided to throw out a code: 007-371 Is there any service information about this printer anywhere? finding it hard to locate much at all. I did...

What retro things have you done today?

Now that is nice! I had one of these years ago before I jumped to an Abit KT7. I had the K6-2 450, sblive 1024 and a Voodoo 3 3000. I am so tempted to look for a board and cpu again! I still have everything else floating about in storage.

    Atari STE love?

No probs, glad to help :) If you ever wanted to sell that Falcon then you have a buyer sat here lol. I lusted after one when they came out and then Atari vanished :( FLOImg is quite a powerful little program. I also use it to read/write Opus Discovery and MGT+ Spectrum disks. I have even used...

    Atari STE love?

FDRWCmd and FLOImg. Requires the use of a pc with a floppy drive. or Supercard Pro, Kryoflux disk imager coupled with a floppy drive. Attaches to a pc using usb. I am not 100% sure but I think Arduino-based disk imagers can also do ST disks :)

    Atari STE love?

I had the Atari STE 520 Turbo pack back in christmas 1990. I will never forget that christmas morning, opening a brand new STE :D I still have a bunch of ST's now, the only machines I do not own are the Falcon, Mega and TT. I will assume you know about things like the Gotek floppy emulator...

So I dug out my A1200

Things to always look out for with these: 1. Inspect the motherboard! If your 1200 still has its RF shield it means removing it. The smt capacitors on these machines leak, they can eat/damage cicruit traces. There are some amazing people out in retroland who can repair and upgrade all...

What was your first proper PC case?

I think this case chassis also formed the backbone of the Antec Plusview 1000AMG. That was one hell of a hunk of metal lol! A fully loaded system was just too much. It was insane to just move about the same room let alone go anywhere else with it lol. Was a good case but the paintjob was too...

What was your first proper PC case?

Same case, in beige with custom blowholes and some black car stripes down the sides. Mine also had an Abit KT7-Raid with a Thunderbird and a Global win FOP32 (screamer) stuck on top! I miss that old system :( Everything came from OCUK. Seems like an age ago now.

What was your first proper PC case?

My first proper case was the Globalwin 802. Ocuk must have sold hundreds of these cases back in the day, they even got them in Black with custom blowholes cut. I still have three of them stashed away. Then came the Lian-Li PC-60. I liked that so much I bought the optional window side panel for...

Best modem for Virgin Media, need some advice please.

I was looking at these aswell, but would they make sense? would mean the hub3 stays on but I would disable wifi on it in favour of these: https://www.overclockers.co.uk/asus-zenwifi-xd4-3-pack-whole-home-dual-band-mesh-wifi-6-nw-11w-as.html
