    Would you tip game devs?

A newly released game for £44.99 is about to get 5 years worth of updates, bug fixes, and new features. How can you leave a tip before it's finished? Then when the game is finished, it's price has dropped to about £5 or £10. So I can kind of understand leaving a tip if you bought the game for £5...

    10900K upgrade?

7800X3D. Don't get a 13th or 14th gen Intel CPU if you have an Nvidia GPU Source

Has anyone made their own car ramps from wood?

I just use a couple of concrete blocks and a plank. Stuff I have laying around. Done many oil changes like that and replaced exhausts etc

Which games do you like to test a new GPU with ?

Whenever I buy a GPU I test it with whatever games I'm currently playing. I've never installed a game for testing purposes and then uninstalled it afterwards. Any game that you've been testing for the last 4 or 5 GPU upgrades is going to be very old by now.

When the Gpu's prices will go down ?

Is it really some kind of feat that a 3090 is still usable? I'll definitely stay away from those.

What do gamers actually think about Ray-Tracing?

RT does look nice. It probably improves the graphics by at least 10%. However, that extra 10% means the difference between spending £200 on a graphics card and spending £600 on a graphics card. Around 3x the amount. I wouldn't even spend 3x the amount decorating my house to get it looking 10%...

Time flies, perception of time as we age

I planned how I was going to retire when I was in my 20s and I've been working up until that moment ever since. I'm 45 now and I'm set to retire when I'm in my 50s. I see other people working in their late 60s and 70s. It's crazy. It's like their sole purpose in life is to serve others. I want...

    Anyone moved to mini PC?

I've moved my server into a mini pc. It sits on a shelf so it doesn't take up any room on my desk. I'd never recommend a mini case for a gaming pc because you're limited on what graphics card you can buy. There's often special offer on graphics cards or theres the MM etc. You'd have to turn...

    Stuck in a loop

Does it boot to a Windows repair GUI where you can select different options? If so try and restore to a previous point.

Anyone got an Ergonomic mouse ?

I'm guessing ergonomic mouse is something right handed people buy. It looks like it would be very uncomfortable for my left hand.

Is it worth Buying an Apple Watch?

My grandmother bought a nice watch once and he was still wearing it 50 years later. Watches used to be a worthwhile investment. These days, they last until Apple decide to stop supporting it and then it no longer syncs and becomes useless. I hate spending hundreds of pounds on anything that the...

Office for Mac 2019 - upgrade?

Games don't get security updates. I was playing GTA San Andreas recently. That's had no security updates for 20 years. It's not an issue.

Office for Mac 2019 - upgrade?

I still use Office 2007 on my PC and all my documents open when I email them to people. My Excel formulas all work in later versions. Office 2019 should be good for another 15 years at least.

Nvidia now worth more than Amazon and Alphabet

Well done to everyone who bought Nvidia products. Jenson couldn't have done it with you.

    CPU naming moan

It doesn't look good for marketing if AMD is releasing 7th gen while Intel is releasing 14th gen. I think AMD is just going to move rapidly through the generation numbers until they're level with Intel's naming scheme. I don't have a problem with doing this, it makes sense. Microsoft did...

Out the loop, worth upgrading AMD 5900x ?

There's use in upgrading if it's too slow for you. There's no use in upgrading if it's fast enough. Only you know.

Recommend me a budget office chair

I bought my office chair on Gumtree for £20. No idea what make it is. The advert just said comfy office chair for sale.

    4080 super running like crap

Oof, Nvidia have a long history of driver-related issues. I'd be inclined to sell it and buy a Radeon.

Lower resolution v lower graphics settings

    1. Set the Windows resolution to your display's native resolution. That's always been the rule for flat screens. 2. Open AMD Adrenalin, Graphics tab, and enable Radeon Super Resolution. 3. Start a game, choose high settings, and lower the resolution until the framerate feels smooth* Radeon...

    Can't open compressed files

Does the Dell open much smaller compressed files okay? It's just that we went from files (plural) in the title to just one 75Gb file.
