    LG B1 vs C1

From chatting with the LG employee at a local AV store.. the main difference is that the G1 has a higher nit value for HDR. I haven’t really looked into it any further as I ended up buying a C1.

    LG C1 the best 55" for £1300?

I’ve got two of the 48” models and can confirm they are incredible. Check out Quantum TV for settings videos if you like to tinker :)

    LG 2021 OLEDs (C1, G1 etc)

I'm interested in this also, does anyone have any recommendations?

    LG 2021 OLEDs (C1, G1 etc)

I joined the C1 club on Saturday and whilst it is undoubtedly a superb set I have struggled with the calibration of the image. I have followed the settings outlined by rtings and “Vincent” on YouTube but both produce a picture which seems a dull brown colour, the colours don’t seem to pop for...

Intel NUC as Plex Media Server.

I checked into Gsuite and the prices don’t seem too keen, £13.80 per month for 5tb. Couldn’t find the price for unlimited storage. I’ll probably go the HDD route, the reason for the separate NAS I’d the media server is a SFF. So unless I buy a 16tb drive and store internally... Actually... I...

Intel NUC as Plex Media Server.

Thread revival! I'm now nearly 6 months in and I've decided to increase the storage. The system setup is great, everything for the most part is automated and runs pretty well on the internal network. I massively overthought the whole transcoding side of things as for the most part files direct...

*The Official PlayStation 5 (PS5) Thread*

I’ve got a LG 27UK850 which is essentially identical to the 650 and it’s absolutely superb. Would highly recommend, the screen looks amazing both in design and display :)

Will look into this, thanks :)

Intel NUC as Plex Media Server.

Quick Update. Got everything up and running now and its pretty good so far, it has become apparent however that I need more indexers and more storage. The system now has Sab, Radarr, Sonarr, PMS and Ombi running via a reverse proxy. I would like to thank everyone for their help in this thread :)

Intel NUC as Plex Media Server.

Cool, I’ve already installed Docker, enabled HV and Containers.. and installed Ubuntu. I’ll just set it up as a windows install, as long as it works I’m ok. Think the hardware will be ok to support the performance I need. Although.. I am tempted to wander into a Linux install just to see if I...

Intel NUC as Plex Media Server.

The way you started this reply was amazing, I’m a rookie at all this and need all the help I can get. Whilst I can go against the grain and buy hardware which is more powerful than I need, I definitely cannot ignore configuration advice! What I was trying to avoid was over using the NVME...

Intel NUC as Plex Media Server.

A little update on this project. So.. I’ve now got the 3050 and after a few initial problems (CMOS and RAM related) I’m now up and running from a hardware point of view. I ended up with a 500gb 970 Plus NVME for an OS drive on the machine, removing the 120gb SSD (now installed in a 10 year old...

Intel NUC as Plex Media Server.

To be totally honest I’ll probably stick with windows as the OS (I’m not very experienced with Linux based environments) so will likely up to 2x16gb RAM, may well purchase a 500gb SSD/NVME too as I’m a little sceptical of a 128gb drive being big enough. I’ll likely setup the system to download...

Intel NUC as Plex Media Server.

So.. I’ve just picked up a Dell Optiplex 3050 SFF with the following specs: i5-7500 8GB DDR4 RAM 120GB SSD Win 10 Pro For £170 delivered, which I’m pretty happy with tbh and I wouldn’t have got that deal without you guys! My budget was ~£350 so I’m going to invest in 16GB of DDR4 and I’m now...

Intel NUC as Plex Media Server.

Ok, GF wants to keep PS4 as the media player downstairs so back to building a server. With reference to the management of the system, I wasn’t aware and hadn’t researched thoroughly enough the software management side. I’m happier that it can technically be an automated system though! Is Ombi...

Intel NUC as Plex Media Server.

Do you think removing the PlayStation and replacing with a fire tv downstairs, which natively supports MKV etc, may be the better option? Then simply run Plex server on the Synology to serve the content direct across the network!

Intel NUC as Plex Media Server.

Thank you for the feedback. After reading online I’m gathering that an 8th gen onwards Intel CPU has benefits due to hardware acceleration. Bearing in mind my relatively low user count, do you think an i3 would suffice or should I stick with an i5? I’m also tempted by 16gb of RAM, but I’m...

Intel NUC as Plex Media Server.

Sorry if this is the wrong sub forum to ask this in, the question could be asked in numerous places here. I have a Synology 212j, a very old NAS with 4tb of storage and no transcode support via Plex media server. My fiendish plan was to emulate a setup I had during the summer where I utilised...
