Games constantly crashing with new GTX1070

Well here's an interesting update, I was just about to finalise my returns request, when I saw a video on youtube regarding the last few driver iterations. It turns out that the most recent Nv driver (373.06) increases temps by up to 18°C, so I then downloaded their recommended driver (368.69)...

Games constantly crashing with new GTX1070

I think I'll look into getting a refund and put my GTX970 back in until these 1070 issues are sorted (it's not just limited to Asus cards). Maybe I should either get another GTX970 for SLI, or look into getting a 980Ti as I'd prefer to run just a single card TBH (esp as it's more stable under...

Games constantly crashing with new GTX1070

Cheers to all that replied, I have found that enabling debug mode in the Nvidia CP lets me play just fine, so that leads me to believe there's something not quite right with the more recent drivers. I am using the latest drivers (I've always kept them up to date), so hopefully this issue gets...

Games constantly crashing with new GTX1070

Hi, I recently bought a gorgeous new 32" Philips BDM3270QP QHD monitor from these lovely peeps here at OcUK, and soon realised my MSI GTX970 Gaming 4G wasn't really up to the job of managing all those pixels while gaming, so I bought an Asus GTX 1070 Strix OC. I'm no noob when it comes to PC...

    The α6000 Thread

I've had my a6000 since March this year, coming from a Canon 60D & a few decent lenses. I got my black a6k + both kit lenses (16-50 & 55-210) via a Hong Kong retailer, but I did get the UK version. As the a6k doesn't come with a dedicated battery charger, I bought 4x ExPro batteries (same spec...

    Windows 10 USB3 Overheating

So, I downloaded the Win10 Pro 64bit onto a USB3 stick for a fast install on my 'spare' 250GB Samsung 850 EVO SSD, which all goes perfectly. I then installed chipset, SATA, audio, LAN & Nvidia drivers (rebooting after each). When I removed my Sandisk USB3 stick, I let it go very quick as...

    Help me spend my money!

I bought my a6000 via a Hong Kong company for £549 a few months back, and delivery took approx 8 days from time of ordering. For that price, I got the a6000 body, 16-50 kit lens, & 55-210 kit lens, so basically I got the 55-210 free compared to UK prices :) I'd also suggest that if you get an...

Help please! £300-£400 Digital Camera for First child

If you could stretch to another £100, the Sony a6000 can be had with the 16-50 kit lens, and will be pretty much better than anything else similarly priced. It's actually £549, but there's £50 cashback available ATM. If that's not an option price-wise, the a5000 with 16-50 kit lens is only...

What do photographers think of this new act passed by the government??

Here's a handy graph of social media sites which shows what they do with the metadata, which should help people make more informed decisions as to what is safe(r) or not to post their images. http://www.embeddedmetadata.org/social-media-test-results.php

Is a dual core enough for lightroom/PS?

You could always add more RAM later as finances allow, which would be the easier and cheaper option :)

    Her first snow...!

Lovely dog you got there. One thing I always notice when taking photos of mine (as you can see in yours too), is the way they always keep you focussed as they run towards you My border collie got to experience his first proper snow last year, he loves it too. He's quite short though, and with...

Battery grips for cameras - Experiences with the cheap ones?

I have the £35 Meike grip on my 60D and tbh, it feels better than the Canon one which is 5x more expensive. They both have exactly the same features etc., but the Meike rubber feels more tactile and grippier.

entry level dslr with action/sports shots in mind

My son got a mint 30D (<1000 shots) and EF 24-70 f2.8 L USM for just under £900 earlier this year for using in his Uni work. The lens is something special, and he's so glad he spent more for the glass than the body, which can always be changed more easily later, while still gaining in IQ :)

Photobucket App Y U NO... Grr. Alternatives?

I have my own space, so tbh, not used them for storage, but they do via the "Pixlr imm.io" link on their page linked previously... I suppose if you want less restrictive hosting (above gets removed if not viewed for 30days), then maybe flickr is your alternative.
