    Family dispute incoming

This is not how I would word it. Even without the lie it’s a problem imo. She doesn’t have to explain herself, but without one I would make it clear it’s going to affect our relationship. If parents want to spend their money travelling the word, or expensive cars, whatever… that is their...

    Family dispute incoming

We had a little bit of this when my father died. I have two much younger half sisters so was made a trustee of their part of their inheritance. It caused a bit of resentment. I really wish my dad had spoken to them (and their mother) more directly before he passed. There was nothing...

    Family dispute incoming

Completly agree. It might be their money, to do what they please with. But it’s a fairly significant snub which is rightly going to significantly affected the family dynamic going forward. And the lying suggests they knew this but still went ahead and done it anyway. Which makes it much worse...

Should Gordon call an election this year?

Much more self inflicted this time around. If anything this thread serves as a reminder that the Labour Party were probably on the right track on where to go next in 2010. In retrospect they also did a good job of mitigating the worst of the immediate risks posed by the financial crisis. The...

Pension fund performance - do you monitor yours, how is it doing, do you actively change it?

This thread has got me thinking I need to start making more of my pension. I'm considering paying in a lump sum before the end of the month and using some of my unused allowance from previous years (I think the rule is I can carry over from the last three tax years 2020-2021, 2021-2022...

How many fillings do you have? [Poll]

Floride in the drinking water also made a huge difference according to my dentist. Introduced widespread in 1974 iirc. People born after then tend to have far fewer cavities.

I have a couple. Too many late nights in my late teens early 20s.

How much has your council tax gone up this year?

At the very least it should be funded centrally through the NHS. It’s a huge responsibility and councils are way out of their depth.

How much has your council tax gone up this year?

Band F £3,071.12 -> £3,248.48 They did paint a 20 mph limit marking on the road near us recently so it seems quite fair.

How much has your council tax gone up this year?

Almost all the money goes on adult social care. This is from a few years ago and shows up to 2020 which is 57%... but you can see how that number is increasing. The latest report I heard in the broadcast news is that figure is now as high as 80% for some councils...

Pension fund performance - do you monitor yours, how is it doing, do you actively change it?

I’m still a few years away from 50. But I would like to retire early. Maybe I’ll move some of the funds to something more spicy.

Pension fund performance - do you monitor yours, how is it doing, do you actively change it?

I’ve just checked mine and apparently it’s made 11% since 2017. Which is pretty **** poor by anyone’s standards. I was considering paying in a lump sum to use up some of my unused allowance. But I’m not so sure now.
