What is the sketch with the latest AMD Drivers?
In the past I never thought twice about updating, but a few months back it was hell-like, so I reverted to an earlier stable version of Radeon Settings.
Have things improved?
Can I safely update to 20.whataver versions from 19.something high?
I did have a look at using the DDU tool, but it came with so many warnings that I figure it should be the last resort.
I'm trying a custom installation of 19.8.2 now since I definitely never had issues with that in the past. Seems like 19.9.x and on is causing the issue.
So far so good...(until...
I need some assistance with reinstalling Adrenalin drivers.
Every time I try to update the installation process results in a black screen, followed by a "no signal" message. I'm forced to reboot and Radeon Settings simply won't open up for me.
It is a pain in the ass because I don't need my GPU...
I've not experienced any issues using a splitter cable on my reference 5700XT. I do have a modular PSU, so can use separate cables, but the extra cable for me just starts to make things look untidy.
I do get the occasional coil whine, but it is generally only on boot-up if me PC hasn't been on...
Intel are all about their laptop sales, and they are still utterly dominant there. The volumes are that much higher.
For the segment of the market that we exist in, sure, Intel are becoming irrelevant, but we shouldn't lose sight of the bigger picture itself.
As for why Ryzen CPUs perhaps...
What I first thought was a dead CPU was in fact a dead CPU socket on the motherboard. There's so many different possibilities that you have to test for before being certain where the problem is.
