think it's very build dependant, if you go for a strong meta character then it's fine to get though maps and kinda ignore most of the new mechanic. Try one of the Hierophant archmage builds, or maybe a DD build

yeah I'd love to try this version. I find the gauntlet campaign really fun to get through. If you think about it we don't have a single arpg with a difficult early/mid game so effectively campaign, they only seem to ramp up in later maps or empowered monoliths for last epoch
