I don't think AMD will mess up Navi, it's just that the Nvidia hive mind will see that it's not anywhere near a 2080 or 2080 TI and then declare it a flop. The reality will be that the high end will be a 2070 competitor but at a lower price.
what is your power limit set to?
When I had my PL set to 50% I would get those clock spikes leading to crashes. I turned it down to 20% and they don't seem to happen that often now.
I recently dialed my HBM down from 1100mhz to 1050mhz and it seems to have solved crashes I was experiencing. Odd because at 1100mhz i can run stress tests like Time Spy loop, FSE loop, Heaven etc for hours without a crash but somehow games would crash once in a while.
Also from watching...
After testing out most of the recent drivers from 19.1.1 up to 19.4.1 I have found in my personal experience that 19.2.2 is the best out of the bunch in terms of OC stability for a Vega 64.
19.3.X to 19.4.1 would tend to cause a lot of clock spikes which would lead to crashing during games or...
I don't know if it's related but over the last few days I've been having a lot of random black screens while doing random stuff like just browsing the internet. I don't know if it was a Windows update that broke something.
Also, over the past few days I've been testing out stability with most...
So 19.4.1 has been pretty bad for me in terms of stability so I'm thinking of rolling back to an older driver.
Which one would you say was the best driver out of the drivers since 19.1.1?
I've been having those crashes caused by spikes in clock speed as well. Getting crashes in PUBG lately and checking HWinfo shows that the GPU boosted up a lot higher than it should have even with power limit set low.
Hardware Unboxed did a Vega 64 vs GTX 1080 video, and he used an Asus Strix Vega 64. He tested with stock clocks (1590mhz/945mhz HBM) and OC clocks (1700mhz/1050mhz HBM) and the difference in most games was minimal. His Overclock was netting him anywhere from about 5-10 FPS more in most games...
Yes I have a feeling it has something to do with my monitor. Oddly when I plug it in via HDMI 2.0 the voltage gets stuck between 1050 and 1100mv. When I plug it in via displayport it gets stuck between 900mv and 1050mv.
seems like one of the 19.3 drivers broke the voltage for my undervolted Vega 64. Core voltage seems to be stuck between 1050mv and 1100mv regardless of what I set in Wattman, overdriventool, registry table etc.
Since one of the last few drivers my core voltage is messed up again. On any mode in Wattman the voltage works fine when I start Windows, but after playing a game or stress test the voltage will get stuck at 1050mv and randomly alternate between 1050mv and 1100mv.
Yeah I noticed my card was running a little hotter than usual lately and then realized GPU power draw was higher than before. Also explained the higher clocks I was seeing.
My Ref Vega 64 had a noticeable amount of coil whine (a loud buzzing under load). It has gotten a little more quiet over time now, and I can't notice it with my headphones on.
The same thing happened when doing that. At the moment only locking the min and max to a single HBM p state seems to work
I was also told to try adjusting the voltage swing in the display tab and since doing that i haven't had any issues but I'll wait and see
Sometimes when I try to wake my display (Dell S2719DGF) by shaking the mouse or keyboard it doesn't come back on. I try powering the monitor off or unplugging from the GPU but it doesn't do anything.
The only thing that works is restarting the PC and when i load into Windows I get the message...
Sadly I didn't take any pics but I used some guides I found on Reddit. There are some pictures a person posted of their mod they did to their Vega 56 although this person didn't add the backplate

First, after taking the reference cooler apart you basically want...
Still seem to be getting crashes after the computer has been idle for a long time. The screen goes into power save mode after being inactive for a while and sometimes it doesn't wake again. When I boot back up I get the "settings have been reset" message.
