so, the black dragon ram is in, and the vista memory test ran ok with no errors (before got errors straight away) and the windows version of memtest also had no errors.
SPD picks it up automatically as 800mhz at 5-5-5-15, but not sure what voltage its set at.
all seems stable so far, so i...
ok, cheers.
ill give it a stab at lunch.
leave everything on auto and see what it thinks it is, then manually set it. do you reckon i should go for 2.2v (the low end running speed for 1066) or set it straight to 2.4? or a middle value of 2.3v?
720mhz is correct as far as I know - as DDR2 = 720 x 2 = 1440mhz.
Not quite right, but close enough. Mine shows at 400mhz in CPUz, but is set to DDR800 in the bios.
interesting - so if the SPD is picked up as 1066 (as people have been saying it is with the black dragon stuff) will it run at 1066mhz, at 2.2v-2.4v at 5-5-5-15 automatically?
ok, well for people who care - ive found out a bit more.
i chucked everything back to automatic, so standard 2.4ghz on the cpu, and all ram / voltages set to auto, the ram read at 800hmz (400x2 in CPUz).
the CPU voltage was reading as fluctuating between 1.24 and 1.26 ish all the time...
important in general. like I mentioned, I have no problems in day to day use of the PC, games etc are all fine, its just one little test, which stresses all 4 cores at 100% for a very long amount of time - in real world applications, there is nothing that will ever do this, which is where my...
also, another question which has been niggling at my brain - their is an option on the P5K boards called a transaction booster - on a website (forget where) they have run some fairly concise tests to show that enabling this and setting it to 0, 1 and 2 tends to give about 200-500mb/s on each...
yeah, its 1.3 in the bios - but how do I know how much its actually trying to draw when under full load - is it something CPUZ can monitor in real time?
ive read a bit about vdroop and cant work out whether it should be enabled or disabled in the bios or not? anyone comment?
in no uncertain terms... its MASSIVE.
there is a video on youtube somewhere where a guy reviews it and gets his 2 year old kid to stand next to it for size comparison.
all I can say is omfg...
btw, they are amazing and I love them :)
Ok, so I am no stranger to overclocking, and in most tests, the only way to truly see whether your overclock is definitely stable seems to be to run Prime95 for a good few hours to make sure you have no errors.
In the past, I have run it and it has immediately failed, although windows and...
can no one read?
all the questions asked have been answered in my first post, or dont apply because it couldnt post!
and i have found the problem now, its the ram!..........
thanks for the reply and lol at the second guy - it doesnt post, how am i supposed to change the voltages.
i have found it out to be 1 of the ocz modules i use - strange but true. rmaing now :( damn
i think my pc died - help!
ok guys, i have just come in from the gf's to find the fans on 100% - i never run them on 100% signalling its crashed or rebooted.
completely unresponsive so i reset it and it started to boot into windows so i could see what was happening. it got past the vista...
