What have you done to your car today?

same issue with the mrs' skoda fabia, umpteen visits back to the dealer over the years never solved it, just dried it out and replaced any water damaged parts (usually the boot floor/carpet) used to fill up to the top of the spare wheel well. The vents either side of the rear bumper were...

How much is this car worth?

Its a Huracan Technica, about £230k (but could be more depending on the interior)

Recommend a resort on Lara Beach, Antalya

My fave is the Barut Lara followed by the Titanic Marden Palace -Barut is very understated but total top quality, mainly Europeans, Scandinavians, Germans etc all but one of the a la cartes are included, no extra charge, excellent outdoor evening events (garden parties for both kids and adults)...

What have you done to your car today?

Yep, there are some on the bay but ones from breakers always seem to have some damage from being removed with a hammer!

What have you done to your car today?

Guessing you've an e class? Should be even easier as it's much smaller and no heating vents (the hardest thing to change over), think the wiring is even easier as there's less connections. It's just a case of finding the right replacement panel...... apparently only the coupe came with the wood...

What have you done to your car today?

Just changed the centre console from gloss black to black ash open pore wood. Managed to pick up a brand new complete C63 console for a pretty good price, only downside is that it also required the media panel with the clock. Luckily managed to find one for the correct year without the cd player...

Opinions on this car and dealership?

It's a shed, stitching is coming apart on the drivers seat, rear bumper looks to have some issues, kerbed wheels, headlight out yet just passed MOT..... And that's from a quick glance at the photos, dread to think what it looks like in real life. Hard pass.

So cars are expensive now, huh? (Leasing)

My A4 goes back in Jan and I cannot extend, it's not surprising when the lease company will probably get nearly 100% return against their purchase price so my monthly (even though it was silly cheap) will have been pure profit. A similar car is over 80% more expensive so not good value. I've...

Does different front and rear tyres mess up 4 wheel drive?

Depends on the 4wd system and mainly if it's permanent mechanical 4wd. ie subaru, old audi with the torsen diff. In those cases it's not the type of tyre but the overall diameter that must be the same or as close as possible. That's why you have to ensure the tread depth is the same all around...

What desktop speakers are you using?

Recently replaced my very old Logitech X540 5.1 with a pair of Ruark MR1 MK2. Really nice speakers and sound great considering the size and no sub. Then thought a sub might be a good idea as they have a sub out and I certainly missed a bit of bass being used to the sub in the 5.1 setup Couldn't...

Why is my air compressor not powerful enough to run my impact gun?

Had a compressor this size and power many years ago, it was useless for anything other than inflating tyres and maybe a nailgun. Couldn't power any tools with decent pressure or the pump would run continuously (which is bad for them, and really bad for spray guns, but also creates significant...

*** The Car Cleaning Thread ***

iron X only removes iron deposits, it doesn't replace a wheel cleaner. (it actually works better on clean surfaces) I'd recommend ValetPro Bilberry wheel cleaner, used it for years and doesn't have any harsh chemicals but works well. For really stubbon areas, then out comes the claybar.

Incorrectly badged car at main dealer

If you're looking for one, I know of an immaculate T5 with winter pack - Osmium grey metallic with amber leather, 14k miles. Note that you'll see a huge amount of CC T5's coming onto the market, most with basic spec and all registered around March to May 19. These were the silly cheap Santander...

Incorrectly badged car at main dealer

V90 CC's also have an AWD badge next to the engine marker. That one's certainly had all of the badges reattached with the incorrect T5 one and no AWD badge. Off leased my T5 CC last month. It was a very relaxing bus to commute in for 21 months. The things it lacked would seem to be the extras...

    Paint bubbling after washing

Washing would not have had any effect, unless you are using neat tfr or something totally unsuitable for paintwork like jif. When I painted cars they'd always be washed as the final step to returning them, prep paint bake finish (sand, cut, polish as required) wash due to the above) detail...

Post Your Daily Encounter Pics Here

Which is partly based on truth, Rome police had a 250 gte in the 1960's, driven by their top driver and used as a proper high speed pursuit car.

    Swapping Cars

I do this every time I change leases, as I choose to overlap to ensure I'm not without a car. My broker allows up to 3 months of covering both cars and the last 2 times has charged about £30 a month.
