How is Android different to the Iphone OS?

I can't add much more then already has been mentioned, but some things to think about. Not all Android phones are equal. A Galaxy S, HTC Desire or Motorola Milestone will all feel very different to use despite all being Android. This is mostly down to how they are "skinned". So while one...

O2 - When is an upgrade possible?

O2 actually class their customers into 1 of 3 bands Blue = 1 month early Silver = 3 months early Gold = 6 monthly early There is a link on their site outlining the criteria for deciding and detailing the benefits. In short though, its how much you spend. If you spend a lot, expect to get...

    Android and Exchange Support?

This is true, but WM 6.5 won't get multiple Exchange, thats being reserved for Windows Phone 7.

    Droid/Milestone

I think its unlikely you'll see the Galaxy S with a keyboard 1 month after the Galaxy S. Its not been officially announced, that post was in March. I seriously doubt we'll see it very soon. Any way we'll see lots of handsets with slide out QWERTY keyboards Q3/Q4. After that we'll see devices...

    Droid/Milestone

The Milestone/Droid don't come with MotoBlur it is bare Android as has been pointed out. Don't write off the Galaxy S. It does look like a slightly bigger iPhone, which isn't a bad thing. The back has a unusual dotted "pattern" on the back which makes it stand out. The Milestone has a keyboard...

    Droid/Milestone

Its not quite a fair to compare speed on MHz alone. The Milestone uses an ARM Cortex A8, the Desire a Qualcomm Snapdragon. They both handle tasks differently. That said generally day to day use, you'll find the Desire "feels" faster, as HTC have tweaked their build of Android something crazy...

    Android and Exchange Support?

Must be something on the exchange end? I have no control over that side of the pair, and have no idea what is / isn't configurable. All I can say is that "it works for me"... ;) Okay I stand corrected, had a play with a retail unit and the option is definitely there. I stand corrected...

    Android and Exchange Support?

I'm sorry but, If I have read your post correctly, this bit seems wrong. On my Desire I can Long press a message, select "Move To" and move the message to a folder on my exchange account. I have just noticed though that I am missing some folders, but I have a lot of folders and it might be a...

HTC Desire / Xperia X10 Sat Nav Q

Actually Google navigation caches your route, so will work fine if you loose coverage, so long as you don't stray too far. Moxia Mail on the X10 is a piece of junk, seriously. Its nowhere near good enough to us as a decent Exchange client. The one built into the Desire is a lot better. At...

    Android and Exchange Support?

Sigh... so many people weighing with options without knowing the facts... Okay, Android got native support for Exchange in 1.6 upwards. However there are also 3rd party apps that you can add that will add Exchange support. However none of them, or even the stock Android support for Exchange...

    HTC Desire Pink issue

H/W wise generally the X10 is a better device. Bigger screen, better camera, although the screen tec is poorer, in reality it doesn't make a huge difference. The software however is another story. While SE have done a lot to make 1.6 usable, the bottom line is that its quite poor in comparison...

    Orange Offer for HTC Desire

If you can live with "3" they are offering the Desire FOC on an £17 per month 24 month contract....

    Would 02 allow this?

But thats on Vodafone, not O2. I know this for a fact as last month I had the BB bolt on for 4 days and incurred £100 worth of data charges.

    Would 02 allow this?

Nothing stopping you, but becareful with data charges. Any data you use with a non BB device you'll pay for if you have the BB bolt on. You'll have to have the plan changed to the internet bolt on.

    O2 - "You don't have a smartphone"!

Lets add the term superphone then, as a certain manufacturer will be using that to describe their handsets soon.

    O2 - "You don't have a smartphone"!

Thing is how do you define a smart phone? I'm looking at my S40 Nokia that lets me install 3rd party apps (java), lets me collect email, browse the web, twitter hell it even does multi-tasking (I can listen to music and still do other stuff). I wouldn't call it a smartphone though....

Orange Upgrade Question - BB without BIS

BlackBerry's are a bit useless without BIS/BES though. The built in web browser won't work, nor will any of the email options. You can use 3rd party solutions though.

    Sony Ericsson Android XPERIA

Honestly apart from the better camera, you'll find the X10 a poorer phone. The Timescape interface is confusing/annoying at best. I'd personally choose the HTC Desire.

    The Official Motorola Milestone Thread

You'll get you wish this year. Were seeing the trend to move now to touch screen QWERTY. There are stats out there that show users text less on touch screens, and there is a dissatisfaction for lots of users of touch screen devices. It just take a while to filter though. But I know for a fact...
