    Noctua fan noise

Just moved them to be seperate, and still with the noise! And that is without the front mesh panel on. Maybe my machine is so quiet now that change in frequency of the fans is the issue? Wish I could post a video to show the problem...

    Noctua fan noise

They were touching but are now as far apart as possible, but that means thet are resting on the top/bottom of the frame. I'm move them slight from the edge and make sure they don't touch. Have you had any issues since removing the foam? Excess dust etc? That was my next move...

    Noctua fan noise

So it seems like its the both fans cause it, but its worse when they are both connected???

Or it’s another component…rear exhaust fan/air cooler fan or could whine that I’ve never been aware of before?

    Noctua fan noise

Can’t do videos but the sound happens when either fan is plugged in, worse when both plugged in, so probably not the fans then?

    Noctua fan noise

Yes, both are on 4 pin headers, set to silent fan curve in bios. Bios has an option to set a manual curve but not by voltage, and is extremely fiddly (ASUS prime b450 plus, so a budget board).

    Noctua fan noise

Hi, I recently bought two Noctua NF-A14 PWM fans for the front of my meshify c case, replacing two non PWM fans which were loud. They top fan is great, whisper quiet and when it has to ramp it has a ‘not annoying’ tone. the second fans however, during normal usage make a (not loud)...

    Odd FPS Slowdown in gaming?

Sorry that was intended as a bit of joke in these dark times, but I appreciate this was probably not good timing when your computer is not behaving as expected. my bad, hope you get this sorted quickly.

    Odd FPS Slowdown in gaming?

That’s probably your problem. Your vram will slowly fill over time and become clogged, a bit like a plug getting blocked in shower. very carefully take the the card out, being careful not to spill any of the data, and empty it in your bin. I think you are supposed to empty it into e-waste at...

RE: My super machine. Pics included.

Amazing - completely missed the age of the posts and couldn’t understand why such dated parts were being used! Think what 5.5k would buy you now...assuming you could actually buy a 3080/3090!

Looking for laptop to run MS Flight Simulator 2020

Perhaps to be a bit more helpful than this, you cannot link to other websites, so you might be better to remove the link. The forum is paid for and supported by overclockers so asking about competitors is against the rules. As for the laptop linked, it might run it but the experience will be...

    New boot drive

Sorry, I’d didn’t read your message properly. I already have the two nvme 1tb drives (I got one for free) which is enough storage. Rather than having the boot drive as a 1tb in the m.2 slot and remaining largely empty and buying another 1tb ssd, I figured a 500gb ssd would be cheaper.

I like having my photos on an faster drive - makes scanning through much quicker.

    New boot drive

My pc has two 1tb nvme drives - one in an m.2 slot (the boot drive) and the other via a pcie adaptor. The second drive is almost full (Photos/some games) and the first is 1/2 full (mainly games and software). My grand plan is to install a 500gb data ssd drive, reinstall windows and only use...

    Mobo upgrade

Damn you for have such a well reasoned and coherent argument! Yep, that makes perfect sense. Guess I’ll go away and think of another hair brained scheme.

    Mobo upgrade

My thinking was to have both nvme drives on the board for a cleaner look, better VRMs for a point in the future when I upgrade the cpu and an excuse to build my pc again in the boredom of lockdown! Oh and to use nice braided cables... But yes I get it, it’s not really a worthwhile upgrade.
