    Type R and VTEC owners

I had one for 2.5 years. Great car, but obviously try drive one. My only complaints are largely the same, like the stereo. Enjoyable and really rewarding car to drive. A practical thing too.

Should the 'luxury car tax' threshold be raised?

Why should a £40k car pay over 3x as much tax as a £39k car? They made it value based and not emissions based, yet the only charge of note kicks in just above average new spend, which is sort of working middle class or bigger families. Stupid.

Should the 'luxury car tax' threshold be raised?

It's possible to spend over £40k list, less than £35k out the door and with a tiny deposit pay about £400 a month. Over the last 10 years, the average price of a new car went from £28k to £38k. The £40k figure is now outdated if the thinking behind it remans the same.

Nice. I’m going to be parked up next to a 300ZX tomorrow at a sort of car show thing.

Should the 'luxury car tax' threshold be raised?

It’s not about it not being affordable, it’s about coughing up money for nothing in return. An extra £350 a month is like making 13 payments a year, not 12. Or the price of two services.

Should the 'luxury car tax' threshold be raised?

I think it's too low a limit. It occasionally needs to shuffle upwards. It's impossible to buy a family car from a few brands, which are mass market stuff, not luxury, like a 320d or whatever. Even a nice Kia Sportage is well towards the limit. Unless that is the intention of course, to be a tax...

    WBAC Values

Traded another car in, our 4 year old VW Touran. Cost £23k new when list price was £30k. 4 years and 20k miles later and i traded in for £20k. Looking at the prices on Auto Trader, I wouldn't be surprised to see it for sale at about £26k.

When is the pricing bubble going to burst?

I’m about to trade in our 4 year old VW Touran. Been offered £19-20k. It’ll probably be listed at £22-23k. I bought it new for £23k (£30k-£7k discount). It’s fairly low mileage, but without the pandemic I would have expected it to be worth £13-14k. I think lots of prices are still +50%.

Question for those with 7 seaters & young kids

If you want similar but are more budget constrained, try a Toyota Vellfire. Still get a 3.5 V6 AWD, recliner seats, DVD screens etc...

Question for those with 7 seaters & young kids

We have a VW Touran. Real good, but probably not ideal for youself. As a wierd choice there's always something like a Nissan Elgrand.

    Motors YouTube Videos

Can anyone recommend any good youtube channels for road trip style videos? Ones with older cars are better like what Harry M does.

    WBAC Values

I know there’s a lots of negative reviews of people saying they got offered something rubbish compared to the quote, but I’m willing to bet their car was trash.

    WBAC Values

I’ve used WBAC and similar on two occasions and both times they gave me very close to quote. Last time they knocked £80 quid off just because a few more similar cars had appeared on Auto Trader in the meantime. Not sure that’s a valid reason though.

Is that because of component shortages?

    The Tesla Thread

The youtube reviews i've seen all say it's firmer than the 3. It's taller to they've stiffened it up to prevent it leaning. In all video's you can see the camera jiggling like crazy. A lot of my cars have been firm riding so I can't imagin it would be too bad to me, but still... I think it was...

    The Tesla Thread

Does anyone have experience of the MY? Most reviews comment of the firmness of the suspension, but i've only seen one (probably independant) review that really slated it, saying it was essentially a deal breaker.

    WBAC Values

Q1/2019 i bought for 32k. Q3/2021 i sold for 33k. There were about 80 of the model/spec on Auto Trader. Kazoo listed it for 33k, so not making much/anything. Eventually up to about 120 on Auto Trader, but now down to just 18, so they must have sold at those prices.

When are you going fully electric?

My commute is 22 miles there are back and yesterday it used 28% of the battery (with precondition x2). My maths says this is about 8kWh, which is 2.75 miles/kWh. I'm sure hills area a killer, even with regen.
