Help me stop my desk from going saggy

Or...use man maths to justify a dremel....;) If you want to still be cheap, then stick the bolts in your drill and spin them up, then press onto hacksaw. Cheap and easier than trying to clamp the bolt whilst sawing away at it

Help me stop my desk from going saggy

And if you want a neat hole then drill half way from the inside then finish from the outside. This avoids the hole blowing out if you drill just one way. If you can't get at the back use less pressure and just the hole saw spinning do all the work

Help me stop my desk from going saggy

I made mine from a sheet of 4x2 18mm ply. I made aprons of c10cm height and 2 x 18mm sandwiched, this was OK for the front, but the rear needed a length of angle iron added to stop sag. Having twin 27" monitors on an arm puts a lot of weight through a small area, but the angle iron has stopped...

bought our super king from them about 8-10 us ago. Zip together mattresses as I wanted firm and my wife soft. They were great to deal with, IIRC they spent a while making sure I wanted a firm mattress. Zipped made get it upstairs much easier as well

Power Tools & General Tools Recommendations & Advice

Possibly a lightweight 18v SDS. Most drill/drivers with hammer are very poor at hammer drilling and you dont want to spend longer than necessary drilling holes Will you be drilling from inside or out side? As dust collection may be an issue inside and some have dedicated dust collection...

I'm not sure dewalt do a twin 18v chainsaw like Makita? A single 18v one will be limited in bar length and power. So Might be worth looking at a makita package with batteries & charger. https://www.worldofpower.co.uk/makita-duc405pt2-twin-18v-brushless-40cm-chainsaw-2-x-5ah.html or...

    Washer Dryer Has Died

Have you tried just selecting mixed and not touching any other options? Or for a fast test you might have 'Speed14' option which you can use for small loads under 2kg

    Washer Dryer Has Died

Good to hear they are more reliable in the last 5 or so years since I left. The issues with CS and post sales were endemic from the perspective of snr mgt (SVP and upwards) at the time I was there. I just checked the Samsung website in HA, and it appears they now have a service manual for what...

How small can a home-gym realistically be?

1.3m is very tight. Most benches are 1.2-1.3m when flat, although mirafit do a folding bench thats under 1.2m https://mirafit.co.uk/mirafit-folding-weight-bench.html. That could hang on the wall by the door and only be laid out when the door is closed? If you're not using full barbell then a...

What "man jobs" have you done today?

That's how I ended up with 2 mini weber bbqs. I put the first one in 'the safe place' and spent about 1 month looking for, bought another. This time, I thought, I know where I can put it so I wont lose it. Went to special place I wouldn't forget, moved a box aside, and there was the first mini...

    Sanding wood floor

I think a mate of mine used that for a floor that needed a fairly light touch (it might have been solid wood though) - are they the ones that are basically a super sized random orbit sander with 3 discs?

    Washer Dryer Has Died

I have that many Samsung products, not because I'm a glutton for punishment :), but because I worked for them in a regional role for about a decade. They may actually be getting better as they finally promoted a decent guy to SVP in HQ, he was a former regional CS head with a real understanding...
