Never tried "news.us.newshosting.com" before, seems to work considerably better than the default unlimited.newshosting.com or news.newshosting.com I'm guessing its down to strange routing. unlimited and news were giving me 8mbit on a 50mbit virgin connection. news.us. is now giving me 34mbit...

Hey folks just a quick question about esata ports. Are esata ports just external ports for the sata bus? I only ask as i have 1 "esata" port on my motherboard but i also have backplate sata ports... are these not the same? isnt the "e" just short for external. The reason i ask, is i'm thinking...

best way is to try mate :) It used to work on XP ages ago, and yup windows should have all the drivers needed (or at worst the windows install disk). Backup all your important stuff first then go for it mate :) Cheers RO

Okay tried it in an external drive - tried to copy a 2gb file for sequential write test and started fine 60m/s, evened out to about 35mb/s (as its a usb2 caddy) then after about a gb of file transfer it bombed down to 600k-1mb/s and stayed there .. also when canceling the copy it took about...
