after some searching through shuttles archives i found a older bios for my mobo and re-flashed and hey presto i have a xp 2500 again.. woohoooo

The error i get is "The program file's part number does not match with your system!".
this is with a REV1 bios...
I did not get this error when i flashed from my old bios to the new one (the one thats giving me these problems) witch is making me think that i have the right bios installed...

So you mean its a v1 shuttle with a v2 mobo? or the other way arround?
so could it be possible that the FN41 REV2 written on the mobo is refering to the system and not the actual mobo type? and...
I am using fn41si0q.bin from the shuttle web site and also tryed fn41si0n.bin (old version)
The mobo says its a FN41 REV2 (written on the mobo) but looking at the handbook it says its a FN41. the pics of the bios in the handbook look the same as the bios i had before the flash...

Ok have some new info.. i went back to a old bios and it pick my cpu up as a XP withc is better than before but i still dont have the right speed.. Its runnging at 1.1ghz 100fsb and its a xp2500
i still have no contol over the speed...
Thanks for the offer robmac.. but im 100% sure i have used the right bios for my system because it says rev 2 on the mobo after a closer look.. and even after a re-flash the bios is still being dumb...
but the problem is the new bios is not picking up my cpu speed... and not even letting me...
I still cant get anything to work.. any changes to the cpu multiplyer or fsb has no change on the clock speed!
Is it goosed?

When i first flashed the bios it was with V2 as i was sure thats what i have.. but since im having these problems and the bios dosnt look the same as the manual im thinking that this is the wrong one...
But trying to re-flash with V1 is says that "wrong part number" and dosnt do anything...
Ok somthings funny is going on now... bare with me....
I using the borked pc now because i have managed to get it back into windows.. not realy sure how buts its working fine now..
The only problem is. my CPU isnt getting picked up right, its saying its a athalon 1.1ghz when its a xp...
Do i realy need a new bios chip?
The pc loads up and gets the the point where is looks for windows then comes up with loads of errors...
Ive been looking into a bootable cd then try a re-flash?
Long story but ive been having a few problems with my USB slots (Shuttle SN41G2) and it was recomended to update the bios and chipset drivers...
So i updated bios in windows with winflash.. but it looks like i have used the wrong bios (i was tired) so i cant even get into windows now just...
Im with you on that one.. games seem to be geared for younger people...
the psp has much more games with violance in eg: GTA to me = older market this is one or the reasons i went psp.
You wouldnt find TOCA on a DS because its a racing sim thats hard to play and requires a little mechanical...
