I've replaced GB3466WQSU-B1 (which I managed to damage successfully with my studio monitor) with GB3467WQSU-B1 and indeed the flickering issue has clearly been addressed by iiyama. Not only that, but there are some other small noticeable improvements I wish were implemented with the older 3466...
Interesting, perhaps (as I suggested some time ago), the brightness flickering has been acknowledged by AMD?
Radeon Software Adrenalin 2020 Edition 21.2.1 Highlights:
Known Issues:
Brightness flickering may intermittently occur in some games or applications when Radeon™ FreeSync is enabled, and...
With Anno 1800, how many FPS on average does your GPU generate? While playing the game press Alt-R to invoke Radeon Software panel, Performance tab -> Metric Overlay. I can see some flickering in Anno 1800 with average 56 FPS, pretty close to the LFC range but still above the minimum.
No probs, I've re-uploaded it. You'll see some difference, but as I mentioned earlier (and assuming our VA panels come from the same production batch) not much needs to be changed on GB3466WQSU to have 100% accurate colour representation.
I prepared ICC profile for the monitor some time ago (https://www.overclockers.co.uk/forums/posts/33873990), but honestly, the colour accuracy out of the box is very decent.
That would be great, the two games where I'm still seeing flickering symptom is Anno 1800 (during gameplay and in menus, visible especially with dark backgrounds or water) and Flight Simulator 2020 (for some reasons menus only).
What if I can still see flickering with Freesync enabled at 144 Hz with only few games with the new firmware? The last firmware almost fully eliminated flickering with my 5700XT, but I noticed when playing just two sepcific games, that there's still some flickering although nowhere as bad as...
Smashing, thanks for getting in touch. I had a firmware update done around 3 weeks ago by iiyama repair center, is this new firmware you mentioned newer than the one my monitor received 3 weeks ago?
Yeah if it doesn't work then I wouldn't bother and would just go for RMA. Just a few questions:
Which GPU do you use?
With which GPU driver version did you perform the test?
Did you see flickering all the time (even when just looking at the desktop, scrolling text, opening different window...
Also have a glass of 12y Glefinnian or Scapa ready, I noticed a wee sip increases my tolerance to brightness flickering. At some point I don't even need Freesync anymore.
In fairness neither Freesync's nor Gsync's implementation is truly reliable. We've seen it many times, different monitors, different GPUs, different drivers, different games deliver inconsistent Free/G sync experience. There's nothing like consistency! You'd think a reliable design and testing...
Yeah I know what you mean, I first switched to DP 1.4 to verify the monitor is DP 1.4 compatible, and then enabled Freesync. I'm currently using KabelDirekt 2m.
