    cpu or gpu upgrade first?

In order you are probably best: 1st - GPU as that will set your up performance limit, so get a 6700 at just over £300 (or better) if you can. 2nd - CPU as with the higher GPU headroom it will now make a reasonable difference. Get the 5600 (non X) at < £130 as that will do just as well...

The 280mm in the front is always an option. Also a £40 Thermalright Peerless Assassin 120 SE would be fine too I expect.

I have an Asus B550-F and that also has a chonky heatsinks. Looking at it the radiator will miss your big heatsink and be a few cm clear of the lower ones. You can always sight down from teh top of the case where the 120mm radiator would line up. Here is a pic of how I fitted mine, as I pulled...

Just tested mine and I think the 240mm top mounted will be fine. 5800x3d did a max of 73C in Cinibench R23 10min multicore run, room temp was 20C Also in Cyberpunk 2077, 4k all max, Dlss Quality and Frame generation.. max 52C CPU @ 38-40% usage hitting 4450MHz on clocks, GPU-4090 was 61C @99%...

    AMD Ryzen 7 5800X3D and Noctua NH-D15S

Will be fine it is not as hot as a 5800x. You still need to give it some good cooling though, unlike the 5600x. I went from a 5800x to a 5800x3d and it ran cooler. Though I have a 240mm and it does just fine (used to use a 280mm and that was not much better)

    Upgrade to 3080 or 40xx?

3080 or AMD equivalent is fine at 1440p but 4k will stretch it, your CPU may hold it back and see stutters or quite low 1% You also need to consider 32Gb RAM on your system Other considerations is 3080 (base) has 10Gb vRam, you may want to get something with more. AMD cards tens to have more vRam

Would a CPU upgrade be worth it even if it's not really maxing out (At the moment)? (Information inside)

Short answer, CPU etc.. as your current CPU will not do well with a high end GPU. I would spec out what your ideal build would be and then look at routes to get there. Budget: You could get a decent gaming build for around £800 targeting 1440p, probably looking at low cost MB/CPU/RAM and say a...

The FE 3090 is 313mm long, while the FE 4090 is 303mm long so I don't think you can fit it in with the front mounted Arctic Freezer II. I use the AIO in offset position, this is especially helpful. To mount front or top is quite the debate. I was very much for front mounting but after being...

That is a Arctic Freezer II 280mm. The case has had that Asus 3080 and also an FE 3080 in with a 3800x and then a 5800x (hot little CPU). Today it has an Arctic 240mm in the top and a 5800x3d with a FE4090 (a similar size to the FE 3090) I did this as initial sizing suggested the 4090 would not...

*** NVIDIA GEFORCE RTX 4090 STOCK SITUATION & OcUK YOUTUBE REVIEWS - NO COMPETITOR DISCUSSION ***

Yea mine was same. Spoke to OCUK CS (nice chap) and because of that they would not hold the order until stock came in, and not wanting to pay another 400 for a card that was available all i could do was wait for the cancelation. You think you had one, stopped hunting on other sites only to find...

*** NVIDIA GEFORCE RTX 4090 STOCK SITUATION & OcUK YOUTUBE REVIEWS - NO COMPETITOR DISCUSSION ***

Had a nice chat with a friendly chap in CS about my order. Apparently Amzon payment had failed, and there has been a lot of that. SO I don't have the option to wait for these cards to come it at that price. :( They did offer me another card that was in stock, but this was +£300 over the price...

    NVIDIA 4000 Series

I have been fighting the website for the past hour and just managed to get the order through. So maybe it is luck or things are easing up. Paid via amazon as it was easiest to click, though took a while for me to authorise via my banking app.

Like others say the Freezer II 280 fits nicely. This is what I have in mine. The two 140mm fans through a rad will give you more airflow than the 120s as the bottom one will just be blowing air on your drive cage. I also managed to fit a 120mm fan under the two 140mm fans after filing off some...

I have an NVME (Samsung 980) in a little external case and get decent read/write speeds via the USB C. Like 1000MB/s which is getting close to the 10Gbps bandwidth.

    Be Quiet 500DX

Looking in the case there is some room as my rad (on the inside) goes higher up than the top fan by ~15mm. It comes down to where the case header cables come to. I have done this in another (different) case and only a couple of the screw holes lined up, but it was enough to hold/jam the fans...

Hmm maybe, I do have another case that I managed that in but would depend on the clearance at the top. I have a radiator fitted there so I can't really go any higher. I am not sure there is 20mm to spare?

    Upgrading to a Ryzen 5 5600X

Not sure you would gain much with current card, especially if playing above 1080p. What seems to be the trouble at present? Low cost.. I think your ram is fine as it is, isn't it rated for 3200 CL14 which would be sweet as it is or you could run at 3600 C16. You could swap in a 3700x (your...
