Anyone with twins/young kids who can offer some car advice?

You mentioned you looked at the XC60, but did you realise that Volvo sell the XC60 with integrated booster seats? We've got one (3x kids, 3yo, 6yo and 8yo) and we no longer need any car seats, and they can all jump in and belt up like older kids/adults. It really is good. When we started...

How to do insurance/tax when purchasing privately?

Hi all, I've never bought a car privately, I usually part-ex my current car at a garage against another. Usually you strike a deal then return a few days later to collect, giving you time to sort insurance/tax etc. What's the usual arrangement when purchasing privately? Presumably you don't...

Recommended PS4 headset for 7 year old

Hi all, My oldest son plays the PS4 a lot, and I thought I'd treat him to a proper PS4 headset for Christmas. At the moment he uses an old pair of wired over ear headphones that I had spare. Can anyone recommend a headset for a 7 year old? I'm not sure about wired or wireless. What's better...

3 4G router. From TPlink Mr600 to Huawei B818. Wow!! But network setup help needed!NAT/PortForward

So, to confirm, you're now using B818 as the modem, then the USG as the router, and Deco mesh as Wifi access points? Congratulations on getting everything sorted. Sounded like a bit of a headache.

Question regarding Unifi setup (Modem, AP and controller over wifi?)

Have you considered AV/IP or HDBaseT for example? Then you could have Sky box hidden away, and distributed over Cat6 to multiple locations.

Question regarding Unifi setup (Modem, AP and controller over wifi?)

Thanks, I'll check. No, we don't want to run a cable on the front of the house, and there really is no simple option of running it internally either :( Thanks again for everyone's help.

Question regarding Unifi setup (Modem, AP and controller over wifi?)

So, can the ethernet port on the Flex HD (http://dl.ui.com/datasheets/unifi/UniFi_FlexHD_AP_DS.pdf) be used to provide data FROM the wifi, rather than TO the wifi? I.e, can the ethernet port be used to provide a wired connection to other network equipment? Thanks, Edward

Question regarding Unifi setup (Modem, AP and controller over wifi?)

Other than the internet connection, everything is hanging off the mesh. All my equipment that feeds AV over IP is in a rack in a cupboard at the back of the house, and the master phone socket (no extensions) is by the front door at the front of the house with no easy/feasible way of running...

Question regarding Unifi setup (Modem, AP and controller over wifi?)

Thank you both. The modem is a Sky Hub (so modem, and router). so I can have the modem/router connected to one AP, and the controller connected to a different AP (over wireless)? How would I set it up to start with? Will the controller be able to see the first AP over a wireless connection...

Question regarding Unifi setup (Modem, AP and controller over wifi?)

Hi all, At home we currently use the Tenda MW6 mesh wifi system to share our internet connection around the house. It doesn't seem to be too great when roaming, and also doesn't allow separation of LAN's for different ranges (e.g. one SSID for 2.4Ghz, and another for the 5GHz band). So, I was...

Been offered system from work - Take it? And what GPU to pair with it

No, it’s not a Dell. It’s a custom built PC that the IT team built for Devs, but have since updated the specs of, and therefore this spec is no longer used, hence the selling off of them

Cool, I'll likely go ahead with it then. What GPU would you look to pair with it please?

Been offered system from work - Take it? And what GPU to pair with it

Thanks. Happy to game at 1080. I'm a developer, so my setup is a vertical 24" 1440p and horizontal 27" 4K monitors, hence why the GPU needs to run Windows at those native resolutions. Am happy to game at 1080 on the 4K display though :)

Been offered system from work - Take it? And what GPU to pair with it

Hi all, I work for a software company, and sometimes they sell off old Dev PC's that are no longer being used, usually for £100. The spec they have available for sale is: * Intel i5 6600 CPU * Asus H170M-E M-ATX motherboard * 16GB 1600MHz DDR3 RAM * 360GB Intel 540s SSD * 1TB Seagate...

How to supply feed to USB module from 240v ring main/lighting circuit?

So I’m thinking of using the euro grid modules, rather than plug sockets with built in USB sockets. I’m assuming that the sockets with USB ports have some sort of transformer in them for the USB ports?
