What nail/nail gun for fitting scotia?

Do you think a nail gun magically leaves a perfect finish that is unobtainable with a hammer and punch ? I have done about 7 rooms in my own house, 5 in a house I rent out and just recently 5 rooms in my mothers new bungalow, all by hand and a very good finish if I say so myself.

    Appliance care plans

£4 a month for 8 years is almost 400, so yep he failed at maths but not by a lot. :) In response to OP In general avoid insurance if poss, the insurance company is making a profit so is charging a premium over the actual cost of providing the cover, also there are a lot of fraudulent claims...

What nail/nail gun for fitting scotia?

I do it by hand and knock the nail in the last bit with a punch. Would hardly think it's worth investing in a nail gun unless you are doing it every day.

    Indoor Mould

Don't use bleach, use a Mould and Mildew remover. Highly recommend Astonish brand, can get it from pound shops, Home Bargains, B & M etc. only about £1.20 and will get rid of the Mould in a few minutes. Not a permanent solution but for short term. Also, not viable as a long term solution though...

    Insulation question

Rockwool "wicks" moisture so shouldn't be used for external walls, should be ok for dividing walls as long as the external walls have been done properly and the humidity isn't too high. It's ok for ceiling as long as their is an air gap above, if it's solid will hold moisture and eventually you...

    Has anyone insulated underfloor

According to the Energy Saving Trust which seems to be the goto authority for insulation advice it will take 10 to 15 years to recoup the cost of underfloor insulation whereas loft insulation has a payback in 2 years or less. I would say don't bother, spend a bit more on a more thermally...

1930s Semi Refurb - Part 6 of ... (Edition: New Front Door/Porch Insulation)

This is the "correct" way to do it since I am guessing there is no insulation and/or air gap in the wall. I would personally use wood or upvc cladding instead of the ply.

How not to be conned on ethernet throught the home?

I would say 10% are honest and thats being generous, the going rate for most trades is 200 to 300 a day, having recently overseen a full house renovation for my mother some will charge more than double that if they think you are a bit clueless.

How best to sort these rainwater and kitchen waste pipes?

I would look at teeing the grey pipes together inside the house if thats possible and just one pipe coming out to the drain.

Hard wired smoke alarms mandatory ?

I think thats the corect answer, thanks. To add some more detail, the electrician who quoted for the 2nd fix was £600 more than the original quote and I thought he was making it up about the smoke alarms. It's my mothers house and my brother said we should go with the higher quote, I called foul.

Hard wired smoke alarms mandatory ?

True, but it's a bit more complicated, without making the thread too long one electrician has already done the first fix and then gone AWOL, the one quoting for the 2nd fix said the other one hadn't done the job right by not putting in the wires for the smoke alarms, my hunch was that he was...

Hard wired smoke alarms mandatory ?

You would think I would be able to find the answer to this pretty quickly but I drew a blank. Specifically after a full rewire in a residential house. One electrician gave us a quote saying he had to fit hard wired smoke alarms, another said not. My search came up with a definite answer for...

    Patio Mortar Mix

Matched betting - who's done it and who's good at it? (No Referrals)

The first bookie I signed up to 18 months ago was Ladbrokes, I won £1100 from the £40 casino bonus after the required rollover, was £1500 up at one point. They limited me 18 months later due to a £5 bet on a darts match where they had obviously mispriced the odds, they probably just took a swipe...

Matched betting - who's done it and who's good at it? (No Referrals)

If you take value you win in the long term, thats what value means, you are betting on 100% or more returns. There is no value in 2 ups, they have already factored the cost into the odds. Look at all the bookies that offer 2 up they have enhaced odds without the 2 up included. The gambling...

Matched betting - who's done it and who's good at it? (No Referrals)

After about 18 months I made £7500 and have just about been stake limited and banned from promotions from most bookies, or at least any that have worthwhile ongoing offers. About £100 a week on average but not really worth the time and effort unless you have a lot of spare time and do it for a...

Matched betting - who's done it and who's good at it? (No Referrals)

Not many bookies will restrict profitable customers, it makes no business sense at all. If you are constantly withdrawing and not depositing you will get restricted, makes no difference to them whatsoever if you are laying the bets.
