Audi Service - some advice please

Update... Took the car to a local VAG specialist and they've confirmed the rear mounts do look worn and need replacing. There's a rubber casing which protects the mount and it's dried/cracked so the metal underneath is corroding. I've done some snooping around online and found lots of other...

Audi Service - some advice please

Apparently not, they've said the mounts are worn rather than defective and that it "can happen". I'm going to question it further though as it's far too vague for a £500 bill.

Audi Service - some advice please

I paid for the extended warranty which includes servicing so will carry on with that at Audi, but I think I'll find a good alternative garage for this other kind of stuff going forward if they're going to try and fleece me every time anything else needs doing.

Audi Service - some advice please

Ok thanks guys, I will tell Audi to foxtrot oscar and get the brakes done elsewhere when the time comes. Looking for an independent Audi specialist to have a look at these mounts too. As for tyre PSI, I keep them at 36 which is the recommendation in the manual - tyres are Goodyear Eagle F1...

Audi Service - some advice please

Thanks for the input so far. It's just me who drives the car, and I actively avoid potholes where I can so unless it's to be expected that lower spring mounts wear after 40k miles of average driving I will question that and get a second opinion I think. What's the feeling on £1,800 for new...

    Got another Switch - HELP!

Yeah I have the main account I setup when we got the OLED, which I bought the Expansion Pack under, and I've now set them each up a sub-account under the main account using the Family thing. When he plays Mario Kart under the original main account the additional courses are there. When he...

    Got another Switch - HELP!

Any idea how? When he plays Mario Kart under his new sub-login the new courses aren't available, saying we have to pay. When I go to the Nintendo shop from his new sub-login on the OLED and search for the Mario Kart Expansion Pack again it says we have to pay. If we play Mario under the...

    Got another Switch - HELP!

He has a separate kids account now under my main one, but it means Mario Kart is back to the beginning so he's lost all the extra cars etc. that he's gained. Worse, it won't let him play the additional tracks I paid for with the expansion pack as that's under my main account - I would have...

    Got another Switch - HELP!

Yeah I realise now I should have created them a kids account each under my main account on day 1 as I said in the original post. And yes I do have a Nintendo online account as above. Very frustrating that you can't move save data or things you've bought between the accounts though - especially...

    Got another Switch - HELP!

Here's the scenario: Got the kids a Switch OLED for Christmas (they're 7 and 4) Setup a single Nintendo Online account under my email address Daughter plays Animal Crossing (physical copy) and son plays Mario Kart (physical copy) Due to never-ending arguments about who plays when, we bought...

Audi repair - main dealer or third party?

I shop around every year so will just answer the "have you made any claims" question as 'No'. Yeah as per the original post, the insurer said they'd be using 'manufacturer approved' parts so would be acceptable - my question was around whether there's much of a difference. Either way, I'm...

Audi repair - main dealer or third party?

Yes that's what I've done now. Weighing up the excess and waiting until July for the repair with non-Audi parts, plus the inevitable increase in premium when I renew is not that far short of the £1,300 Oxford Audi want to repair it. I spoke to the Aftersales Manager there this morning and he's...

Audi repair - main dealer or third party?

£250 compulsory, £500 voluntary. It's the gamble you take isn't it - more voluntary means less to pay for the annual policy, in the hope you don't have to claim (which I haven't for over ten years). It's not a problem to pay it, I'm more concerned about fitting manufacturer approved parts and...

Audi repair - main dealer or third party?

Yeah I was expecting it to be expensive but was still surprised. My main worry is that the non-Audi part isn't up to scratch, but I've not had experience of genuine vs manufacturer approved so keen to know what you guys have experienced.

Audi repair - main dealer or third party?

And is there generally much of a difference between genuine and manufacturer approved parts? It's the whole unit they're replacing, 360 camera, indicator, all the electrical gubbins for adjusting the angle, heating etc.

Audi repair - main dealer or third party?

It's Marshall Audi in Oxford - they've done repairs for me there before (hit a pheasant and cracked the grill) and they have all the facilities. There was no suggestion they would be taking it anywhere else and their quote included labour. I may be overthinking it - a wing mirror might just be...
