KFA2 GeForce RTX 3080 Ti HOF - Coil Whine

I would RMA it. If a graphics card intended for gaming is producing so much coil whine gaming is ruined because of the noise then it is not fit for purpose. I've only ever had positive experiences with overclockers when I had to RMA something in the past.

KFA2 GeForce RTX 3080 Ti HOF - Coil Whine

Exact same card, exact same upgrade option I suspect as well! I suspect you got unlucky. The only downside is my case is now a space heater and is on the floor right in front of my legs whilst I save up to extend the house and have a gaming room (although for purposes of discussing with my...

KFA2 GeForce RTX 3080 Ti HOF - Coil Whine

No coil whine on mine. The card is a beast, almost makes up for the fact I turned down a 3090FE at MSRP and only realised what a fool I was about 12 hours after it went. Stupid stupid stupid.

If u think miners dont add to a problem, well think again.

ETH 2.0 will kick in Q1 2022 ish shifting to proof of stake and hopefully then there will be a lot of 2nd hand mining cards on the market at bargain prices.

Which is best for gaming? DisplayPort or HDMI?

Higher frame rates and higher resolutions need more data each second. Older standards can't support as much data being sent so limit your fps/resolution. It's not really going to be an issue unless you are one of the 3 people in the world with a 3080/6800 xt as both HDMI 2.0 and DP 1.4 support...

1080p. Stick at 2060, or upgrade?

I'd stick with it as it is for 6+months. Everything is crazy now so at best you'll spend £500 more than you really needed to to have the gear 6-12 months sooner. Not worth it IMO, I'm just waiting for everything to settle down before I buy anything more and I'm on a 3600 with a 580RX (but not...

    1440p monitor recommendations

34" 21:9 have the same vertical height as a 27" 16:9 here is my setup which has as 34" 21:9 next to a 27" 16:9 for comparison (I teach so I'm set up for online lessons at the moment with some help from OBS) https://imgur.com/m8nyu7E edit: I suck at adding images to these posts

    1440p monitor recommendations

I see OP have added an MSI 165Hz VA panel to his/her initial lot - the G34WQC is a 144Hz 21:9 VA Panel as well. It does have smearing, as does any VA panel, but is not close to the horror of VA of old and is the same price as the MSI VA Panel you already added to the shortlist. I have it, it...

Look at 21:9 monitors too. I tried my first one and can't go back for gaming.

Ultrawide 34" 3440x1440 to 32" 3840x2160 for productivity (and occasional gaming)

Why change, why not have both, do the productivity work on the 32" 4k screen and then game on the ultrawide?

    2 16:9 Monitors to 1 Ultrawide

I run a 34" ultrawide with a 27" 16:9 to one side to display useful bits on. Whilst I wait for my 3080 some games I have to tone the res down to 2560x1080 as that way it maintains the aspect ratio. The second monitor is so useful to have at the moment I couldn't go with out it(I'm a teacher, I'm...

    Would you return this?

Totally agree, it might be below the allowable threshold for dead pixels on monitors, and you might have to massively zoom in to see it but if it bothers you now you will regret later not trying to replace it. Overclockers were great and fair when I got a monitor I was unhappy with because the...

G34WQC - Ultrawide dark patch / shadow in top middle

That looks pretty even distribution to me. I have the same monitor and it is not too dissimilar, mine looks slightly more even than yours but that may be an artifact of the camera. It's a good monitor. If you are worried talk to overclockers tech support - I started off with the G27Q but had to...

New monitor up to £500 recommendations please

I've just got the Gigabyte G34WQC - curved 21:9 1440p VA 144Hz and £400. I'm really pleased so far: in games there is little noticeable VA smear so far, I have noticed it in some videos where there was panning in large scenes with high contrasts but not whilst gaming (ghost recon breakpoint and...

    vRAM for 3440 x 1440?

    vRAM for 3440 x 1440?

With all the arguments on 10GB vs 16GB AMD vs Nvidia going on I'm trying to work what I really need for 3440 x 1440. All the discussions of things like 12GB in Godfall seem to focus on 4k. I don't want to game in 4k because I won't be able to afford a high refresh rate monitor in 4k that I will...

    3080 vs 6800 xt for 3440x1440 gaming

That's not true, some benchmarks have been released/leaked for the 6800 XT. The question also has elements that can be answered now re:3080 and 3440x1440 memory/rasterisation. If you don't have anything productive to say, please don't clog up the thread being rude; it is unhelpful and unwanted.

    3080 vs 6800 xt for 3440x1440 gaming

So I've got a 3080 on order, according to my last queue position email I should get it sometime around when hell freezes over. I'm likely to order a 6800 XT and keep which ever one comes first. The question is this: I'll be gaming on a 21:9 3440x1440 monitor, I care about ray tracing and want...

New G27Q - too much light bleed?

Hopefully below are two pics, one with the lights on and one off of my new monitor (G27Q) next to my old monitor (some old Benq 1080p panel). I'm rather surprised at how much light bleed I'm getting around the edges when anything is dark there, the older panel is so dark when it is supposed to...
